Hey FD how about the PAUSE button actually meaning PAUSE, or at least if your ship gets brutally attacked while in it you are returned out of pause so you know whats happening. I had NO warning i was under attack until it was too late because i was in the controls window. Lost me bounties and a ship, not on for a pause function that isnt that.

So if you can have a noise being made or exited from "pause" and "menu" screens that that would be a great help.

- Where are all the people in the star ports? In systems with 6 billion people, they should be like cities!!!
- Where there is debris and loose cargo in the star ports from destroyed ships, we should see little ships clearing it all up
- The vehicles driving around the starports should be more fluid, and look like real traffic
- You should be able to select your navigation target/ destination in the System Map

Since 1.2 I really like the added shield & armour boosters. They come at a cost of either a utility or internal slot. (and if I choose to stack 6 shield boosters I can get some awesome shields) This gives me and other people choice to increase shields or armour more than just the standard class and size system, but they have to choose to sacrifice the scanner or what ever (you get the picture). To me this new mechanic starts to add greater variety into the elite universe as a player can weight up the value of the extra shield capability or more armour above and beyond that of the standard system of class and size in dedicated slots.

What I would like to suggest is using the same module mechanics to add extra engine modules that increase speed (by a factor like the 1.2 for shield boosters) or extra handling modules (that improve handling by a factor). That way you could create a racing eagle (maxed out speed boosters) or a better handling T9.

Last thought - External cargo pods that use the utlity slots but could come at a speed or handling penalty (a 0.75 or 0.9 factor). That way one could add more cargo but at the cost of speed or handling.

Shotcut keys for turret states- e.g. F1 = Fixed forward mode, F2 = free F3 = Target only

Faction ships like the Courier, Dropship available on the black market but for 1.25 the cost. I will never play as a Fed or Imp but I like the ships themselves. The other drawback is that if a Fed or Imp scans you, you get a fine or bounty for not getting them via proper channels.
 
GUI color

Almost all my problem was solved during the released patches, but the color of the Holo-GUI is stil on.
I cant belive in the distant future scientist couldnt figure out how to alter the color of a projected hologram :)
Please DEVS add an option to alter that ORANGE color separately from other GUI elements with an RGB slider!

It's humiliating to alter xmls after every patch, to feel better in my ship....

Never can work out how to find what i want on forums .. so if this is already addressed i apologise.

FD how about making a system map that shows the current positions of planetary bodies in real time. Like a "bird's eye view"; as if you had flown 5000ls away from the star and looking down on the position of the planets. This would make planning your route for exploration much better so you are not zipping back and forth over the same point from nearest to nearest but can plot a route for the shortest journey time, setting waypoints for planets etc. I am sure they have thought of something like that in the year 3000.
Would be great to see something like this coz exploration becomes tedious travelling back and forth and not in the most efficient use of time.

This was proposed as the original setup for the galactic maps. It was called the Orrery view, so perhaps you might find some info if you search for that term. It appeared in one of the the early newsletters, IIRC.
 
In the transaction tab/panel can we have missions sorted in order of time remaining, would be especially helpful when you have a bucket load of them.
 
Submission system/Ability to upload decals, - AKA nose art.

Submission system for user generated paint schemes.

I bet there are more than just a few modders out there who would love the opportunity to submit nose art or paint schemes. ( these would have to be licence free of course) :)
 
Is it possible to have a filtering tool that would allow (if you have good standings with the faction police in the area etc) to filter out all those on the scanner. The reason would be to just "see" the pirates/npc's as you flick through targets as it becomes very tiresome cycling through ALL targets just leaving potential targets to scan?
 
Navigation Improvements

Navigation HUD
Add a circle to the center of the screen the same size as the "locked" astronomical object circle. So I can line up exactly on an object.
As currently when in supercruise or with retracted hardpoints / no weapons there is no reticule showing exactly where my ship is pointing.
The little nav ball is not quite precise enough, especailly when dashing across 100,000 ls.


Commodities Market hotlinking to the Galactic Map
I would like to be able to select the system names that show up in the "exported to" and "imported from" part of the right hand info panel. So that when switching to the Galactic Map the system selected from the Commodities Market is now selected as your target in the Galactic Map.
As trying to remember system names without typo's when switching between the two panels is quite error prone, at least for me.


Holographic Landing Pad Display keyed to your ship
Please only show the holographic landing pad that has been assigned to me.
They should not be external holograms visible and confusing to everyone but a HUD element that shows up on only the HUD of the ship that has been assigned that pad.
 
not sure if this has been suggested can't see it on the lists

1) The ability to transfer credits from 1 CMR to another...

2) If we get the credit transfer thing perhaps a Credit Balance Scanner... Used like a cargo scanner but mainly used by Pirates... It could scan a ship and bring up the CMR credit balance and the rebuy cost of that ship... The Pirate can now do his your " money or your life" thing and scam him for a money tranfer... This would mean all ships even if they don't carry cargo could be declared a target..
Perhaps a wing of smaller pirate ships like sidewinders or eagle's could attack and rob larger ships only to share there loot later on...

3) An SOS distress beacon placed as standard to all ships.. Used like the homing beacon in Wings... But this could appear on the Galactic Map as an SOS symbol.. Used for any reason when help is needed.. or perhaps as a trap set by a group of pirates that have laid it as a trap...
 
have alot of choke points/bottle neck area's in asteroid belts, also have a moving meteor field.. instead of the static meteor field that exists in the game!! perhaps assign a existing weapon to have the asteroids fragment(once weapon is fired at meteor) causing more chaos to the moving asteroid field!!

I mean this should be pretty straight forward, but how about being able to disable NPC fight chatter. It gets kind of annoying after a while. There is no option, that I am aware of that lets us filter out text from NPC's who want to kill us.
