Compliments on the Phantom

12 hours for close to 20 blueprints and all data and mats required to unlock them inst that bad.
Let me know when it's good and I'll give it a try. Not a big fan of repeating the same task over and over again for 12 hours just to get special shopping tokens. I'll maybe give it a look when ch4 hits since at least then I won't have to look up locations online.

I got most of my blueprints in the beginning when the Ram Tah missions gave them freely. That was fixed later.

That actually was a lot of fun, except getting the last 2 or 3 missing logs.

The puzzle is ok too, it just gets repetitive due to the stupid need for lots of sentinel weapon parts.

How much work is it to get the Guardian FSD Booster? I took one look at Guardian stuff when it first came out and have never looked back even once. Might have to change my view on that, though

Doesn't take long to do. I found it fun to do, but I can imagine grinding it out to open up every guardian modules would get boring after a while.

It will be nice to try out the new exploration features in a new and competent explorer ship, I would hope/expect the FSD jump range (after upgrades) to be right up there with the best though.

I'm super excited about the Krait Phantom, but has anybody else noticed that the exhaust looks like the back of an IDE cable for old hard disks? Maybe I'm just old...

People are mostly amped up about the new Mamba ship, and rightfully so, but I do want to express my appreciation and recognition of the work that went into the Krait Phantom. This could easily have been an "also ran" cut/paste job, and it isn't. The Phantom has a distinct look and identity all its own, while still clearly being a variant of the Krait MkII. This is the way to do ship variants. It doesn't look like a ship kit for the existing Krait, and I am grateful for that.

Yes the Krait Phantom certainly is right in the middle of the sweet spot between "variant" and "unique". It has a certain "racing" or civilian flair of its own separating it from the more utilitarian vibe of the MkII.

Main downside is that I will need a paint job as I absolutely don't like its standard paint and now I wish that FDev would sell cockpit interior paint jobs - that red cockpit… :)

Speaking of the cockpit, it looks fantastic - but more suited for a much smaller ship. Not complaining though. I really like what I've seen so far from the Krait Phantom.

Looks and sound are awesome on this ship... honestly. Only one drawback for my personal taste was the lost 3 large hardpoint.

If it was my decision I probably made out of mk2 what phantom now is and give all this better looks and sounds to the mk2

it's basically a compaqt version of the Clipper.

same hardpoints,
same PP
same Systems except sensors.
less speed
downgraded internal 7 to 5
But can land on medium pads.
more jump range.
less mass, and less armor.
BETTER Shields, due to the MUCH lower mass even with the only 6internal for shields instead 7.

This will also make the ship have more power available than the Clipper as it doesnt needs to put as many power into shield gen and sensors.
And no rnak grind for it.

basically, it might even be the better clipper
