Computer feminization

Considering the fact that we will be able to customize our ships to great extend, why is it so strange to want to customize this aspect as well?
I would like to be able to do so.

The suggestion of customizable voices and a wider range of feedback from the ship is a good one.

The current voice configuration could be considered as the basic one supplied with all ships, but add-on voice modules, using either a male or female voice, could be purchased that included a vocal response for every action, plus some status reports and other comments.

Exactly which parts of the pack were used could be configurable through the options menu, so if you didn't want the ship to give a verbal confirmation of a particular order you could just turn that response off.

The perceived mentality of the male population which constantly has to be titillated to maximize profits.

There is an element of that, no question.
However, there is a great deal of research that clearly demonstrates that males respond more quickly and with better fidelity to a female voiced voice prompt.
In all the military aircraft I'm aware that have a system for voice prompts, all the voice prompts are female for exactly this reason.

So there is good reason to have a female voice prompt, it is definitely not just for the titillation of a very tiny minority.

That's what I already said on the first page...

If you want the option of a male voice then sure I hope they give you that.
If you get annoyed by a female voice and think the only reason to have one is to titilate, I suggest getting out more.

Personally I like the whole "mother" thing in my ship's voice, better to have bitchin Betty, nagging Nora than HAL.

Imagines trying to fly backwards into a station and getting "what are you doing Dave?" ;)

I am a bit surprised by most of the denigrating or even hostile reactions to op's request. His motivation aside I think it is a good idea to have a choice. I would even enjoy multiple male and female voices to choose from and perhaps more machine-like robotic voices as well. It might be fun to buy a new ship and realizing it has a different voice, be it female, male or robotic.

I totally agree with the notion of choice, what grinded my gears was the attitude shown about the current one.

perhaps more machine-like robotic voices as well.

I can't remember exactly the name but there was an amazing male robotic voice in an adventure game some decade ago, it was so perfect - gentle but authoritative, transcendent, confident, cold but eager.

Male voice is just inherently superior IMO to convey the full breath of human emotion and cognition.

I like the current Bitchin' Betty, but a male robotic voice like in Söldner X would be super cool, maybe with a blue/cyan HUD to go with it.

Also, I'd really like the imperial ships to feel different, and that would be one way to go. :)

I always get annoyed when computer voices are female in video games, that kind of pandering to the lowest common denominator is so obnoxious.

Will there be an option to have a male voice for computer voicing?

sorry but when you say "pandering to the lowest common denominator " is rather sexist. the reason a feminine voice is used is because it's calm informative and even mother like in its tones, while a masculine voice would have a authoritative tone.
just listen to the space station announcements, a male voice is used to inform pilots not to perform various actions, while in the ship a female voice is used to inform you. its the same for 99% of parenting, on the whole the mothers voice is always the soothing go to person while the fathers voice is always the disciplinarian, "Wait until your father gets home"
