Engineers Concordant? Really Broo

The Fujin Fujin drinker gave me the roll of my life on some grade 5 rapid pulses for my Ferdelance but then freely fitted concordant beams (the healing wing mate ones). Didn't have the heart to ask for a different favour, starting to regret that now. Was an astounding outcome. Not had chance to try them out yet though.

These healing lasers cannot be used in combat zones or the distress signal signal sources to heal the side I'm on can they? Are they just for other player wing mates?

Just for wingmates (possibly slf too but their shield recharge rate is so fast not really worth it), did you know that when you roll a special effect like concordant, you only have to use 1 favor instead of two to change it?

Removing the effect before accepting the roll doesn't cost favour. You still had the choice of taking a weapon with no special effect (for free), or adding a different one with a favour.

I'm not seeing a problem.

There's no downside to concordant is there? So why remove it? Maybe I'm wrong. Just wanted an upside to the benefit of having concordant for myself (I rarely wing). If I'd have used even one favour I didn't at the time have the materials to get back to 5 grade, but by accepting the concordant offer I could roll another pulse and get a two cost favour done.
