Congratulations, we made it!

YES YES YEEERRRSSS !

Made my year this has.
All down hill from here.

I wonder if there's any chance of me still being able to get a mug ?

Can only echo the thoughts above. This is a dream come true for those of us who grew up on Elite and Frontier, and I'm delighted to be involved.

Roll on, 2014!

I hope that David do a easter egg about the 25,681 KS pledgers. In a tasteful and yet acknowledging way.

I really hope this is THE kickstart FD needs. This could be as vital as the first diablo game.

Just thought I would mention...

Just wanted to post this in here as well as the introduction area:

I'm Allen Stroud. Life long fan of Elite. In my spare time I'm also a University Lecturer at Bucks New University in High Wycombe. I run the Film and TV production course there. I also teach a little bit of Creative Writing, specialising in Fantasy and Science Fiction.

The chance to be involved, even in a small way by pledging to the Kickstarter project in the redevelopment of Elite is very exciting and I'm really interested in seeing how the fictional mythology of the gameworld develops.

To any would be writers out there working on Elite projects, drop me a message. I'm happy to help where I can. I've a fair bit of editing experience and can offer some decent pointers in howto shape up your novels and short stories.

Well I was a little worried in early December, but what a final week.... great to be aboard my fellow commanders.... Right on Commander!..... (beep)

I've waited so many years for Elite to be reborn, thank you to all that pledged via Kickstarter & Paypal, and especially to David Braben for wanting to make this title again so much.

Now where do I found the dock for my brand new Mark IV Cobra!

Hi folks, just switched over from the kickstarter. I was Mark on the kickstarter, (the guy with the frontier tshirt avatar). Just wanted to drop in an say hi before I collapse into my bed exhausted! What a ride it's been. Loved every minute of it an it was great to see everyone pulling together to make the dream happen, think I've got eye strain from staring at the screen so long, lol. Well done to everyone!

Anyway, bed is calling. Nn all!

We did it! :D

Loving this ...how hugely exciting is all this. I just can't believe this is happening at last.

Congratulations to everyone involved, including us backers, right!?

Can't wait to get back to Lave :)

Wow... I'm a bit speechless :)
Somewhere in my dusty attic I still have copies of Frontier and FE. I must've tried just about every Space Trader game out there, and honestly thought we would never see its like again.

Congrats to Frontier and my own thanks to everyone else who jumped in (just don't show your credit card statement to the Misses ;) )

Now where's that Time Acceleration Button? (>>> to 2014)

For the better part of a decade I have on the odd occasion checked forlornly to see any sign that Elite 4 was finally being made.

What a day to know that the wait hasn't been in vain. The wait over the coming year will be tortuous for sure but it will at least be tempered by the knowledge that the game we've waited so long for is finally on its way.

Congratulations

Congratulations.
To the Devs, the supporters, and everyone who has always wanted Elite to live and grow.
Over the years I do not know how much money I have invested in other space-sim games hoping for an Elite type experience. All have disappointed even though I have found some cool stuff along the way.
It is good to finally have had a chance to put some money into bringing the dream back to life.
Thanks everyone.

That's the way I like to justify it myself. I buy a movie ticket and it might cost me £9 for instance for say 2 hours entertainment. I then buy a £30 video game and I might be playing it for a week, a month, perhaps even a year or more. For instance, I hadn't played Battlefield 3 for quite a while and just got back in to it again. It's really cheap when you look at it from that perspective.
