Solid logic. I don't have cancer, so nobody has cancer. I don't haven an IQ, so nobody has one... :D ;)

Fact is that a lot of people reported performance problem at launch. And the root cause never was fully understood. Some people barely over potato level PCs did fine, while others had huge issues despite running top end hardware. I also can confirm that on my equipment (AMD Ryzen 7 3700 with 32 GB of RAM) it at launch showed a number of problems which were clearly on CPU side, while the hardware monitor showed that my GPU was bored and not doing much at all.

I also can confirm that the updates then improved things and in autumn we arrived at a state where the game became playable for me again. (Allowing me to finally confirm that Odyssey gameplay sucks for me, even if the performance is fine. ) But there's still people aorund who up to this day report performance problems.

So based on the statement i quoted, i guess i can conclude that if things are fixed for me, things are fine for everybody?
My post was written in response to Dillon Fallon's request for a hardware setup that can reliably run Odyssey. I didn't claim that Odyssey was free of performance problems.

Calm down dear.

Hmm. Oki. I should have taken a closer look at the context. In this case, my tone indeed was not optimal. Sorry for that.

The core message of my posting is true, though: even so long after the launch of Odyssey, there's no guarantee that the game runs fine, even if you buy top end hardware. There's still reports around from some people that they experience performance problems despite having really good hardware. Root cause still unknown. And considering how Odyssey launched and turned out up to now, i also have no reason to doubt those.

Which unfortunately also means that any hardware advise is kind of a gamble. It might work, or something might go wrong, resulting in a lot of money spent and still having bad performance in Odyssey.

Odyssey continues to run fine on my hardware, and my post was simply to answer the guy's question. I wouldn't consider my hardware 'top end' either. Apology accepted, no sense doubling down on your mistake.
