It's coming to Switch
Haha that would work. The Switch could do it, too. The question isn't whether consoles can do it, it's whether Frontier can do it.It's coming to Switch
Recently with all the developments and news on consoles haven't had much chance to keep up with Elite content on youtube lol. Came across this the other night nice to see were still remembered by the big hitters. Console bit 02:43 onwards...
o7 and a Happy New Year to all even the peeps on pc (Kidding)

The refusal to talk about it at all is baffling.
When O Ant was talking in his content, it was more the message hasn't changed in a long period, there's no indication of progression. Unless of course we rely on assumptions, suppositions and opinions from cmdrs who also don't work for frontier and are essentially guessing from what is being relayed to Pc cmdr's. Essentially at this stage Frontier are the only peeps who know and as highlighted from content are unwilling/unable to give any indication of said progression, happyness is very hard to quantify and is open to personal bias and assumptions also.... o7The need for weekly reassurance is even more baffling.
So...In the last 2 weeks, while on vacation, they stopped mentioning, on a weekly basis, that there are no news about console version and they keep working on fixing EDO on PC with Update 10 and Update 11 in the works.
Doom?!
there's no indication of progression.

No offence meant but you are basing that progression on an undefined/undefineable end point as has been said allot on here "frontier don't even know" so how can that progression be measured. Also again it's difficult to ascertain how far away console development is as there are no current/visable plans for console as to what will need to be done to get it to work, as in potentially what will be cut to make it work. Edo as is now on pc may bare no relation to what's planned for console, the current additions may have pushed Edo over the threshold as to what is achievable on the console version. As said previously it's all suppositions and guesses based purely on pc development which may not necessarily be what is "ported" to console until there is clearer information /progress given nobody can say with any degree of certainty what may happen with the console platforms. Just to say not trying to be argumentative just devil's advocate o7 buddyI'd say the fact that EDO will reach U10 - which is advertised as performance and bug fixes Update - plus Update 11 also announced, is an obvious indication of progression in their quest of fixing EDO on PC.
And while i do think they're closing on it (performance definitely is better now in U9 than it was at launch), still EDO is in no way ready for PS4/XB1
Yep, what Northpin has said above is the answer. Consolers won't like it as the answer because consoles aren't specifically mentioned but fixing the darn thing on PC first is the only real way forward.I'd say the fact that EDO will reach U10 - which is advertised as performance and bug fixes Update - plus Update 11 also announced, is an obvious indication of progression in their quest of fixing EDO on PC.

Frontier are yet to define or quantify in any what at all what "fixing Odyssey on PC" consists of, and so there is no answer...![]()
Not like there is any requirement for them to do so.
I mean, ultimately the consolers never payed for EDO - so FDev is not forced to deliver a console version for EDO (they said they will, but it's not contractually binding in any way)
No requirement, but if Frontier are unwilling to put any sort of definition to when good enough is good enough, it increasingly looks like an excuse to fob off interested parties. Not like there is any requirement for them to do so.
