Well some will fall into disbelief as deep down they really think having just one platform is the best for the game.
They ignore the fact that the game has been translated and dubbed for countries where the currency is not strong, mainly Brazil. The game clearly planned to be based on mass microtransactions and
odyssey is perfect for that.
The lack of data transfer not only in the announcement of the cancellation, but until now. Makes me question the decision. After all, once the transfer is released, it is probably impossible to go back, as many will probably sell consoles or invest massively to play only Elite.
About being better for the game... maybe it's for those universes that play, on their micros that don't understand what lack of investment or the general public do with an interest that is making the game. It is undeniable that since the game came to consoles, the community has grown a lot, and we are seeing it gradually decrease.
So, for financial reasons, I think they will go back. It's not just about not making money with Elite on consoles, but losing all the investment in attracting new players and advertising and development so far, in addition to the damage to the company's image. This is all a major loss that will likely be spent to make ED:O work on the new generation of consoles.
The console's cancellation announcement was ideal for both sides, the PC side that think "this will be the best for the game" that can still wonder what "story we have to follow" as the consoles side that don't Will they charge and not float the lives or ads?
So yeah, I don't think it's over. For the simple fact that they have gone too far to give up possible consumers.
