Control Music Players with VoiceAttack

Hey VA Users,

I am sure I'm not the first to discover this, but it is new to me as of tonight and I haven't seen mention of it yet on these forums, so I thought I'd share.
.
For all of you Commanders out there who are using VoiceAttack and are wishing there was a Jukebox feature while flying around the galaxy, I direct you here:

As is described on their website:
"This application was primarily designed for use with Voice Attack to allow for hands free control of your music and as such you will find a sample Voice Attack Profile included with the release."

Just tried it, and it works.
Simply get your favorite playlist going before starting Elite and voice command away..... Enjoy!

A good alternative to the above is sfajardo's tool. It is straightforward and effective. I had it going last night while running missions.

I tried voice attack with VLC, I made various .bat files that was for different volume settings,I was using it for having internet radio, but after VA was not focusing on the game any more or the View of the OR was going on the desktop.

hmm ... I use VLC with VA. I can't set the volume, but at least I can start and switch between playlists and shut down the player at will, without Elite losing focus. I can upload the relevant parts of my VA profile if you want.

but you start VLC before you enter in game?

no. VA starts VLC and to shut down the music I hgave a command that actually kill the vlc task. You can start VLC so that it is "quiet" (doesn't grab focus) and a single instance (you can not two instances of VLC at the same time). I'm at work right now, so I can't check what the parameters are called, but they are there.

I was loading a .bat file

I created an mp3 player that can be handle with shortcuts, so works well with voice attack.
You can do all the functions with shortcuts, play, stop, next, previous, pause, volume up/down AND more important, you can have 5 playlists ( one for action, one for navigating, one for mining, etc.) You can switch playlist with shortcuts also, so in voice attack you can say 'action music' and will switch to your action music playlist... say 'navigation music' and will switch for your favorite navigation music.

Awesome Sfajardo! Coming from Linux I searched for ages for such a thing until I got back to VLC.
As for the sexy voices, Try Ivona voices. They are frikking expensive but well worth it. I use Emma, and at times it's hard to remember that it's TTS.

In case someone is still interested : the correct parameters for VLC in VA are
-Z --quiet --intf='http' HERE_COMES_YOUR_PLAYLIST_OR_SONG

These are some cool solutions to the problem. I just use spotify connect on my cell phone to control to control the spotify desktop. This way I can change music without ED loosing the focus. Works well and has easy setup.

What I wish is the little screen between your legs in the cockpit could load up spotify or netflix for the realy long trips

tried clmcontrole.exe. fails to run on win 10.:( would appreciate it if you can pass on the details of you vlc vap :) thanks
