Horizons Coop Passenger Missions

If I wing up with a friend, can he copilot with me while we take a passenger mission? Will he receive any of the payouts? What about the exploration data? We both used to play on the XBox together, then I came back to PC and convinced him to join me. I really want to get him back up to speed to where we were on the XBox, but don't know how to do it other than combat fitting my Anaconda and having him either gun or wing up.

No, only combat activities have shown to me any shared income in multi crew for me. And to new players the rewards are rubbish as they scale with their combat rank.

So I think the best option is to have him wing up and join you on pirate hunting, and have him to do hit and run attacks and then keep the distance, while you do the heavy killing with your bigger ship, then you get the same reward for the kill, and as long as your friend does not die before reaching a station, he should be making a descent income and should be able to trade up in ship sizes fairly quickly and as he get better ships he will be able to help out more and more and speed up the killing.

And if doing the engineering, it can be really fun to kit out smaller ships and just to go and have pure fun without any caution tossed out the windows, as rebuys should be very cheap, in comparison to your anaconda.

So, if I combat outfitted my Asp X, we would share the rewards for bounty hunting? Would there be any difference if we multicrewed or if we went is separate ships? I doubt he can even outfit a Sidey right now he is so new to the game on PC.

multicrew gain alot less credits, than if you are in separate ships.

As the combat rank affects your payouts when you join as crew on another ship. In short if I remember right, if your crew is same or higher combat level, they will earn 50% of what you earn, so if you bag an Anaconda with 400k bounty, your crew could never get more than 50% of that amount (200k), but if you are several combat ranks higher than your crew, the payout would be something like 5% (20k)

Compared to if your are in separate ships and team up in a wing, now the both of you get the full 400k for the same Anaconda. So even a stock sidewinder and careful flying should in a short time give your friend enough credits to buy a bigger ship and buy better shields etc. He must shoot the target to get a cut of the bounty.
