Copy items in X mode (with the axes showing) does not seem to work. Also holding SHIFT key to multiselect items does not seem to work. Please help!

Hello, I am watching the tutorial videos on Youtube and see people easily copy items when they are in X mode (with the axes showing) but that does not seem to work for me. I can only place one and not more than one. What am I not doing wrong or why does it not copy the item? Also holding SHIFT key to multiselect items does not seem to work. It will only let me select on item and not multiple items. Why are these two things not working for me like in the videos?? Hope anybody has the answer. Thank you!

When you said "I can only place one and not more than one " it's because you are not in a Group. What I do is place a couple of items down that you are using. Add those two items to a group. As long as in you are in Editing a Group. You will be able to duplicate and move and - duplicatic and move and move and move...until you want to stop. Right click when done.

There are many thing we can do when we ARE working within a Group of items..
To a little test to see if it works out for ya...Hope that helps!

Hi Heather, thanks for your reply. I tried to create a group and then place items in that group, but when I select an item and then press X I still can not copy the item. The stupid thing just moves the selected item and does not copy and move it. Any other ideas that might solve it?

I noticed also that if an item is in a group then you cannot select multiple items in that group unless you select the entire group.

Extremely annoying....you have to separate them from the group first.

Yes I found out how it works now, but it does not seem to work the same way when you select multiple items. Then it only allows you to place them once. It would be handy if it works the same way when you have multiple objects selected and want to copy and move them multiple times.

Oh and would also be handy if Blueprints you create also become a group as once you place them and then try to select them you only select individual items in the Blueprint and not all items in the Blueprint. So if you want to move a blueprint at a later time you first have to use the multiselect tool and then select all items again to be able to move the whole Blueprint.
