Covert Operation Report 3303-4R1
As I approached Alcazar's Hope I had the feeling they had their eyes on me, but not for long. Just another vessel exploring Merope 2A looking for a refuel and a break after days of exploration.
As I left the Station in the surface vehicle, I turned off the lights and made my way slowly out of the alleyways of Alcazar.
In the horizon I could only see the Federal Battlecruiser Farragut and it's companions doing their patrol routines high in the Barnacle Site.
Hiding from one ridge to another, those mountain between me and the Barnacles were no easy challenge. Had to clear my way with no lights and minimal use of thrusters so my presence would not be noticed even at that distance.
I approached the Site, and my sensors turned red alerting me the Federals had restricted the area and filled it with drones. Had to hack their systems so I could pass through.
There I was, beneath the Farragut and the rest of the Feds. Could not believe I got that close without a full range of alarms ringing in the Site. It was time for the message to be sent.
As destructive as the Scarab can be I activated my dual plasma repeaters and so the showtime begun. Feds had no idea where the plasma sounds were coming from and when they realized it was under their noses, it was already too late. The Barnacle Site was in a total mess. No Barnacle Spike intact, no Organic Structure active, nothing but dust and the remnants of meta-alloys.
The shadow of the great mountains that hide the barnacles deep in the darkness they're usually in kept me safe until I reached it's foot and here I am, sending this report.
Not sure if I'll be able to get back to Alcazar intact or even if they already know who was the responsible for the attack.
Got enough materials to synthesize fuel to keep me alive for few more hours. Hope something else draw their attention and give me the opportunity to get out of here or this will undoubtedly be my last Operation.
Not sure if it was worth or not but I guess my message has been sent. You don't own the Sites. You don't own the Barnacles. You are not in control. And when they come under your noses you'll not notice until it's too late.
