[CQC] Cat and Mouse game

The point being: no matter the group you'll "spare" with - you will still be farmed, more to the groups benefit than to your own benefit
And unfortunately there is no way to train in solo
i've heard you can train in solo against a bot in CQC

There really are plenty of opportunities throughout the day for games with players of a variety of standards.
Some say that even Musketeer has to eat and sleep occasionally ;)

Apart from your pride and K/D ratio (which seems to mean a lot to some out there) there is actually no difference XP'wise between losing 8-0 and losing 1-0, you would get the basic 85XP either way. XP is all about the kills and assists, you will actually score twice as many points losing 1-8 than losing 1-0. As you improve, you score more.

There is a group of players (squadron actually) that will invite you for "friendly matches" and try to convince you it it good for you to avoid better players. But they will be actually better than you and it will be nothing more than private farms of noobs like you for them. It's they who are trying to avoid better players ;)

Just so you know, because they will likely approach you in private message (they check this forum).

Just look for some random player met accidentally in cqc arena, who is at your rank and skill level and try to communicate with him in game for future games together.

If you want to talk about CQC and have questions about how to play or to learn the game mechanics you can join WRYR discord and have a chatter. We are the most active squadron in the game with the most knowledgeable cqc players.
We don't organise private farms, all our matches are open to all - mind, we play CQC regularly and you may find it very tough to play with us at early stages.
Bro, how do you think its a squadron thing💀 Anyways, mind giving me a hint as to who these "better players" you think anyone is avoiding are? No matter how hard I try, noone is really coming to mind besides one. Cheers! o7

Still spreading the lies i see... It's not a squadron thing btw. We run a community where people can have fun in CQC without getting farmed by amazing players like you, it's not easy to learn when you see the respawn screen more than the rebuy screen.

I wish there were an organised time, pixel bandits used to do this. Good to see CQC being discussed, I love it!
Pixel bandits... I know that name only from the faction I came across in solo, but is/was it a player organisation of some sort at first?

Well I seem to remember they organised cqc tuesdays (or was it thursdays?) on pc and xbox back in the day. It meant there were many players around at the same time. It worked, I was almost ok at it once…or twice..
I think it would be good for something similar, get more players in simultaneously.

There is a video "CQC Bot vs Heliaxx" on YouTube. I think you should watch that.

Ah yes, the infamous noob farmer! He invites players to his dreadful group under the guise of having fun, but in reality it's all a ruse to farm the noobs for that sweet CQC rank. What an awful player. Seriously, your hypocrisy is unreal. When i started CQC i was being farmed by you 8 : 0 in every single match.

Oh I know, that was a funny one XD We were on the voice with the dude and explaining him the basics when you crashed the game, had a good laugh about it ngl. At least told him to try and get some assists on me when you came, but wasnt really the best introduction to CQC still. Oh well. Id def recommend watching your vids however, good showcase of why CQCD is worthless for organising games now sadly.

I see the competition to farm train noobs is quite atrocious
Maybe what the game needs is an amateur league where only people who haven't met the requirements to prestige are put together, to give them a chance to get some experience under their belt and learn the maps and methods before being thrown to the big boys.

Of course I wouldn't be surprised if people started using alts and clearing their saves every time so they could keep on clubbin'. Maybe valve handing out toxic coal to people for running smurf accounts wasn't such a bad idea.

Ofc not.
In that, "CQC Bot vs Heliaxx" little YT movie it's quite entertaining to see how CQC Bot "happens" to be near the weapon powerup almost everytime it re-activates.
Clock like precision in both timing and flying. Or maybe an overlay that wasnt captured for the moviegoers?

What it needs is pure and simple a solo training ground - with access to all maps - so people can train at their own pace.
Chances are they'll still be farmed, but at least they will know the maps and the powerup loops

Powerup loops and camping have been a thing in arena FPSs since forever, the problem here is that on most CQC maps there's only one powerup of a particular type (or only one at all, period) and the maps themselves are extremely open compared to a classic FPS while having no other minor pickups. In something like the original Quake you wouldn't be able to just camp the quad, you'd have to run a loop to grab ammo, health, some sort of gun to deal improved damage with, and all these maps would force you along constrained routes - while also allowing you to use the mazelike layout to lose pursuers. That, and all CQCs pickups are straight powerups, with none of the basic ones (like ammo or health) that you're forced to grab between kills in a classic fps.

The other aspect of CQC is that in most fights that I've seen where there's a lot of players involved, the match just tends to turn into a furball off to one side of the arena with no real options to disengage besides "try and fly the other side of a rock where they'll see you when you come out". If a CQC map existed that resembled the tunnels of a Descent level, that'd be something to see.

What Id personally say is the biggest issue with CQC is first and foremost just how buggy it is. I can't imagine as a total newbie trying it that I have any decent chance of having a great experience. I can que and it just being abandoned at the time so I dont even get any match, I can crash and get stuck in broken lobby with someone else who doesnt know without even being aware that that's a thing, I can have huge lag, the squad invite system is extremely unintuitive and there isnt even any chat in DM/lobby so you cant let ppl know of any of these bugs.
And then of course there's also the fact that there are no private matches (I wouldnt even be opposed to if those were to be a thing and like, not affecting squadron leaderboards and only gaining like half the XP or sth like that) and the balance of PUs is absolutely scuffed.
