Could some kind CMDR tell me how big the Beta is? I have limited internet and don't want to go over :/

The folder is ~4.92 GB but if you copy your FORC-FDEV-D-10XX* folder and rename the copy to PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER before starting you'll save yourself a significant amount of downloading.

* XX depends on when you bought in. (00 for Alpha, 01 for Premium Beta, 02 for Standard Beta etc.)

Unfortunately I still cannot get into my beta with the Lifetime Expansion pass. I can see and download it just fine. Tried everything I can think of. Removed and reinstalled the entire game. Validated my steam game integrity, validated my game from the launcher, logged out of machine from launcher and relogged with new emailed verification code. Still get the same errors:

Login failure - game failed to connect with the authentication server. please check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes
Next screen: Login Lost: We have logged you out of Elite Dangerous because your account is not currently available. Please try again shortly.

When I verify game integrity from the launcher, it does sync files but then when I launch the game, it crashes to windows 10 desktop at the shader cache screen.

Anyone else having problems getting 1.4 to even launch? How did you fix it?

Wow thank you! That is a handy trick.

One change I've noticed which I can't find in the enormous changelog is that when coming out of FSD after an interstellar jump, the throttle drops to zero.
Previously my ship used to launch forth into the sun.

Any idea if this works with a HOTAS? They normally have throttle set by stick position.

Hey, just logged into the beta and noticed a couple of things so thought I'd ask if they are intentional:
My combat rank has been lowered, my ship's loadout is from ages ago (not what I am currently using in non Beta) and my finances are way down. Is there a reason for the off sink? Not a complaint, but I wanted to know before diving in much farther. Cheers

The data from the beta (hey, that rhymes!) is from a while back, it's not a "live copy" of your main game state. None of the beta progress carries across to the main game anyway, so hopefully it won't affect you too much.

Thanks for the quick reply. I wasn't miffed or anything, just curious and it's all good. The old loadout is perfectly viable.
Cheers and looking forward to a little testing. Also I noticed I didn't get the special Eagle. I assume it's because I sold my Freagle at an earlier save point. Again, just curious.

Can't help you there, the Beta is crashing for me on launch so I can't get in! :(

I think the Imperial Eagle is only available as your "first ship" for those who backed it at a certain level in Kickstarter; for everyone else it's available to buy in-game, if you can find a station that stocks it (in the Empire, presumably).

Also having the " login failure - game failed to connect with the authentication server. please check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes
Next screen: Login Lost: We have logged you out of Elite Dangerous because your account is not currently available. Please try again shortly. " bug. Hell, I wanted to try CQC tonight.

You make-a tha patch notes like-a mamma used to. That's-a nice and spicy.

Looking forward to playing it on release. The Imperial Eagle looks fun and sexy! Beta testers, have fun!

Hm... So, is it only people with the lifetime pass that have access to beta builds? Any other way?

Anyone who backed at Standard Beta, Premium Beta, Alpha or already has a Lifetime Expansion Pass should have access.

If you don't fit into any of those categories then purchasing a Lifetime Expansion Pass is the only way to get access to the remaining betas of Season 1.

Thanks for the info

-Wars between non-controlling factions are allowed and will co-incide with scenarios generated by the controlling minor's state

Umm...so if a non-controlling faction goes above 70%, but the controlling faction is in a state such as 'boom', 'lockdown', etc, then no civil war happens?

I thought the fix was that civil wars states would override other states.
