Was rather hoping this patch would be out this week. Seems to me this seems rather improbable now that it's needing an open beta.

They have already announced it won't be out till 6th October.

They still have to test putting the Xbox and PC players into the same background sim in the next couple of weeks as well - they are still separate right now.

Aren't they together already in beta? At least that's what latest GPP changelog said.
 
Thoroughly impressed with the changes to AI in the main game, and thoroughly impressed with CQC, having played a free-for-all round or two (and having won one.) Latency was excellent here in the Columbus, OH area. I got an old-school arena FPS vibe from the whole thing. It seems like balance is fairly good right now and it's actually skill-based. Can't wait for the update to the live game so that it actually counts. :)

The "system security link severed" message when jumping into a HazRES is a nice touch. I also liked how almost every kind of hull spawned there, and every type of ship seemed at first glance to be able to have a Wanted status there. The AI update is great too; I fought some NPCs that actually used tactics like hiding behind asteroids or running away when they realized they weren't going to win (like not just small ships, but Pythons and FASes.) I didn't see any NPCs ranked Elite, but there were plenty of Deadlies. I have yet to try a compromised beacon.
 
Anyone else having problems trying to join a squad? I've a friend online in my friends list, can invite to my squad but nothing happens. When I check back a few seconds later, the invite button is back available again. Same thing happens from his end... Or am I missing something obvious?
 
Bit concerned about this comment "Make interdiction a bit fairer, it isn't so weighted in favour of the person being interdicted"

Is not interdiction already in favour of the person DOING interdiction OR this this just badly worded?

It does seem to be much easier to interdict people. and harder to get away.

I thought it was fine as it was in 1.3, just hard enough, but the aggressor had a bit of work on their hands if you wanted to stop an honest trader in his tracks.

Has to be said that npc's are much harder to avoid.

Also noted I interdicted friend without him even having time to react.

It was about right in 1.3 .. go back to that please?
 
I've only had a quick look at the main game so far and I noticed ships and modules are not at the usual 10% beta prices?

Yeah, that's happening to me too. Waiting 10 minutes to get one, finally got into one and the connection to the matchmaking server failed.
 
I see very few people , only 1 or 2 join the deatmatch or other, waiting forever before I can play a game. have been able to play one round the last hour.
 
Same here, yet my friend (who I can't invite to my squad) is getting constant matches, both deathmatch and team deathmatch. I thought there'd be loads of players now since it was quiet in the previous betas, but I guess some people end up assigned to quiet servers while others don't... :(
 
Ran into "Salvageable Wreckage". The wreckage was stolen. I was led to believe in Salvageable Wreckage it was supposed to be legal. Questions.

1. Is this to take the place of "WEAK SIGNAL SOURCE"
2. If no to 1 will there be a mixture of both legal and illegal?

P.S. Salvageable is misspelled in game.

I can answer this. The salvage is only legal if you have a mission to go and collect it.
These can be found in BB as normal. Once you have such a mission, the salvage wreck places then can give up legal cargo as you have a 'permit'.
Not sure if it works just for the one commodity you have the mission for, but you can collect as much of it as you like and it's ALL legal. Any you don't return to employer is all yours.
Suggest delaying complete of mission until last minute.

Look at the list of "known issues" in the bug forum for cqc beta. Some very serious ones in there that would, for instance, make it impossible for people like me to play the game.

On my computer, the galaxy map shows no stars except the system you are in, and others where either a friend of mine, one of my ships or an active mission goal is located. Apart from that, no stars are shown whatsoever.


Now under these circumstances, with this error persisting through 1.4 Betas 1-5, I don't want the patch to come out just yet. Do you know why? Because CMDR Sirocco is currently located some 10000 ly from Sol. Navigation as an explorer is impossible, though, when the galaxy map shows you no stars.
 
Well Sirocco ... there always a reset cmdr and get started from scratch at LHS 3447 .... it's get you back into things for the Beta.
But It does sound more like a build issue, have you tried the reinstall route?
I've got galaxy map showing without any issues. (other that some cosmetic changes I'm not so keen on :rolleyes: )
 
Utility mounts on Federal Assault Ship and weapons are still swapped, utility mount - one of them on FAS is OFFSET from the hull, anti alias is not working etc. Hope those little things will be fixed.
