There's no tantrum here. I'm perfectly tranquil and you can hardly call it childish. I, on the other hand, could more accurately use those terms to describe your response. Also it's not an icon. Perhaps you should look up the definition of that. ;)

I never said nothing should be allowed to change. I don't consider Elite Dangerous to be an arcade game but I do consider CQC as one.
It would be like mixing oil and water having those two worlds collide. I don't think it would go down well either.
In the original Elite you couldn't land on planets but that's not even the point. You could in Elite II Frontier though. I don't need your sarcasm.

'A tournament set up by the Federation' is a weak excuse for integration imo. In the main game when your ship gets destroyed, obviously that cannot be the end of your game forever as that would be silly. So they made out like you ejected, got home safe and bought a new ship.
In CQC it's constant ship kills and re-spawns. What sadistic mind is going to set up a tournament like that ? This isn't Saw in space.

Oh please don't give me the 'time and effort' sob story. No-one is belittling what Frontier have achieved here. It is because of my love for Elite (since playing the original) that I am vocal when it comes to CQC integration. I have no issues with CQC on it's own. I'm sure it provides hours of aimless fun for many which is great. I just see no reason for the CQC ranking to appear in the main core game and I think that's a bad decision. If someone is offended or insulted by that then so be it. I am allowed my opinion and FD well know you can't please everyone.

You're being very hostile, personal and nasty about an icon. No need to disqualify someone as belonging to whatever strawman crowd just because they dont share your vitriolic crusade, it is rather rude. By now it is perfectly known that te Grand F1Racer does not approve of The Icon. Thank you for sharing with us.

Ah but you know full well that you have made more assumptions that just that one today and not just with me. I find it amusing though that you make the assumption that I am "part of the 'Elite is perfect no matter what Frontier do' crowd" just because I disagree with you. Funny how people always drag that one out if people disagree with their disagreements ;)

No, because it's a virtual tournament. They put a game in your game so you can game while you game. To your commander it's like playing a video game, because that's exactly what it is.

I suppose you could always stick a bit of black insulating tape over it on the screen, although the glue would probably come off when you removed it. What we really need are black Post-it notes.

Going off topic slightly I have to say I never seen black Post-its. Definitely a gap in the market there waiting to be filled by some enterprising soul.

Think of all the amazing uses - you could leave a message on your bosses' desk saying you are skiving off early to play the latest Elite upgrade, but if you used black ink they wouldn't be able to read it, then when they say they don't know where you are you can say "But I did leave you a message and because you didn't complain I thought it was OK".

work on the computer from home.

Horizons upgrade will be horrid......:)

And yes, I have a great deal of patience, it's just misplaced.
If I wasn't waiting for the server to finish upgrading, I would
go look for it...hehe

Holy crap!!! I waited 6 hours before coming back to the forums after the servers went down to read the changelog while the update downloaded...

The update finished before I got even 1/2 way through the changelog!!!1 GORRAMN thats a lotta stuff

WICKED!!!!

Well done FDev!!! :)

Can't wait for the servers to finish upgrading so I can check out the new ships and see how much they are gonna cost :D
