Any news on mining? have the updates to prospector limpets been implemented in 1.4?

I've seen many ask this but not yet seen an actual answer :(

Yup, it does run smoother now for sure, but I too have the 10CR paint scratch that I cant repair. And PLEASE someone, please tell me what that new sound effect is...I'm hearing it all the time flying around in a high intensity site..it sounds like a welly boot being pulled from squidgy mud, it's loud, it happens often and it's blinking annoying!

You're right in that it runs smoother, and the shader-prep seemed faster also!
but further investigation showed me that post-update the AA settings have been modified.
For example, I let the game use the Ultra preset, and didn't change a thing. This used to give me FXAA ( Fast Approximate AA ) and 1.0x supersampling.
After the update, it has been changed to SMAA.

While the graphics did look 'sharper' than before, there are noticeably more jagged edges.

But god CQC is awesome :D

Exploration data to HIP 11879 wiped again, just as described here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=188119 - only difference: I didn't die this time.

Update: Even worse - currently all my exploration data (even the sold, hence "secured" stuff) is gone. No data whatsoever for Ceos or Sothis.

The development for the change to the "automatic hopper" with the refinery is done only 50%... with the current development it pretty much ruins mining. Now it picks Bertrandite over Palladium every time and I can't stop it from refining all those crappy stuff like Indite, that blocks my cargo space and I just can't get rid of it, since I don't have the option to tell my collector limpets what to collect either. Leaves miners in the hopeless situation of fighting against the automated system. As long as we're not able to configure what's being "automatically refined" or collected, the automatic assignment of refinery bins should at least be limited to only automatically accept ores that have been in the very refinery bin before (so first assignment or material change = always manual). Otherwise you're jumping around with the cursor like mad, just to vent those bins of material you DON'T want, which might even be so much % that you can't vent fast enough. Very, very, very annoying - much worse than having to assign/vent every new ore manually.

Is there an option to disable automatic assignment of ore until it's fixed?

But I like that the ships light status is being remembered now =)

Like in CQC beta, Anti-Aliasing still does not work with my AMD graphic card. And it is no difference, if I choose AA settings ingame all use the AMD CCC to override the settings... Have the drivers updated, does not matter.

Already spotted 2 bugs.

I have a 10c paint scratch that cannot be repaired when I click repair all in station services.
Sitting in Cubeo (Aisling HQ) in the power contact menu it seems to be asking for me to deliver expansion materials instead of letting me pick them up.

Isn't that 10CR enforced for repair check? I thought it was more funny when i ask the mechanics to check my spacecraft without paying... :D

to all ppl with lost exploration data - most likely the exploration data service is down so your UI simply doesn't show it. I don't think you should be worried of losing data, but I would guess that any exploration you do until that is fixed may not be actually saved.

"Hi guys,

Just a quick note to make you aware of regarding exploration data.

We are currently giving the exploration data servers an upgrade which will help with load and should improve performance also. However, this means there may be some discrepancies in the exploration data until the update is finished. This will be completed by tomorrow.

Thanks,

Zac

so those of us exploring and i have currently 3500 systems scanned onboard from a 3 month long exploration saga and have yet to sell it and am still exploring out near the core., will that still be valid? or will i lose some or all of it, if i lose it all i'll be requesting a refund on my horizons expansion and logging off for good.

Well I went back to check some systems I had visited recently and everything wqs fine. And literally 2 minutes after my first post I found 1 undiscovered ELW and 1 undiscovered water world, both in the same undiscovered system. ^^

I also wanted to check how the planets ring systems looked like and if Frontier fixed the so called downgrade of it. And man I was not disappointed! They looked stunning! I was hoping for some light shafts in there but it looked good anyway. The fog made a welcoming return and it was quite spooky to wander around the huge asteroids with no shields on my DBX. From the looks of it it also appears that the ship lights has gotten a little overhaul and I could see slightly farther now. Or it was just a mind trick.. ;) One more thing. The Diamondback Explorer has gotten some new audio designs? Boost sounds differently and it gives a certain mechanical sound when uncoupling the flight assist.

All in all this update was the best so far. Brilliant work Frontier!

Question, I have been to quite a few systems searching for the Imperial Eagle. Is it, and the two federal ships, actually NOT IN the game right now? I'm sorry if this has been brought up elsewhere, I didn't want to spend hours scrolling through 41 pages or more.

Hi, I've got a question about my Frontier folder and what should be in it. It currently weighs in at nearly 12 gigs and has 3 folders in it - COMBAT_TUTORIAL_DEMO, FORC-DEV-D-1003 and PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER. Obviously the Forc-Dev folder is the main game, but are the other two folders still necessary or can they be deleted?

A Massive amount of work put into a massive game, thx for all your efforts Devs, its much appreciated.

One of the most annoying and obvious bugs. Never fixed throughout the whole beta and gamma phases. Whow.

Is it really THAT annoying? One of the options is not greyed out - truly terrible! Be reasonable.

In fact it's probably both low priority and severity and as such is somewhere at the bottom of the list.
