Just sat waiting for the first complaint, or the any news on or why haven't you. etc

Hi Warlock
Major problem with Interdictions since the update!!
You have gone far to far with shifting the interdiction more in favour of the interdictor.
I have been learning to use the Escape Vector and have been able to escape on most occasions after a fair fight
but NOW it is impossible!!
There is NO WAY of locking on to the blue bubble long enough to escape and the rate at which my shields get battered
as increased enourmously.
Also I was dragged into a star during an interdiction and my ship was virtually fried.
PLEASE go back to the settings before the update as the fight was fair and there was at least a chance of escaping
using the escape vector.
Finally the frequency of interdictions has increased massively especially in the Eravate system.
I was interdicted EVERY time I flew from Cleve Hub to Ackerman and on one occasion TWICE on one trip.
You have made a major error with this change and taken a lot of enjoyment out of the game in one fell swoop.
I am at a loss as to what prompted this change as I did not see any clamour on the forums for interdictions to be made harder.
Could you please expalin the logic behind this change?

Hello FD,

finally my first post. What i have to say is thank you for all the great stuff! But i am the first with a complain regarding interdictions on NPC's. It is horrible now after the patch!
If i have interdicted a npc/ship and haveing it whole time in front of me with most of the times perfectly in center, how is it possible he can escape. It now going to cost me more time again to archive my things i want, and i am taking hard Hull dmg!
Also tested a few different FSI's from low cost to High cost all the same!

I hope this can be fixed soon!

And here a video example of my earlier post. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsNEl9GLV1I
Please fix that it really freaks me out lol. I mean i have no problem if here and there a ship can escape but not like this shown in the vid. I had a hard time to archive 10k Merits on Patch 1.3. With this Patch i can't even handle to archive that again cause it so time consuming.

I believe it was intended to be a minor tweak to some values but perhaps, coupled with new logic code exploded into what it is now.
Either way I think it's a bug :)

I have been having a similar experience as well, also increased Heat when firing beam weapons, the 10cr bug. Interdictions seem to be more frequent and even though I maintain the Escape vector bubble I still get dragged out. I am not a fan of the CQC icon, it's not game breaking but does detract slightly from the immersion of my experience, a simple toggle to turn off display elements would suffice.

Interdictions need a tweak. A novice NPC python was able to pull my fully A rated python out of SC despite my having pegged the blue bubble the entire time.

The heat 'optimizations' seem to have borked something. My python is overheating at a ridiculous rate with pulse lasers. A couple of shots and I go from mid-high 20's heat to a heat warning. Something's not quite right there.

Did shield values get tweaked down? A rated shields with a booster are dropping about twice as fast as they were prior to the update. I could understand it if it was a heavily armed opponent, but novice and other low rated NPCs in small ships like sidewinders, etc.. shouldn't be able to wreck my python's shields that fast.

same here with my FdL. Also, when submitting to interdiction I still have a very long cooldown time, so whats's the point?!?!

Am i the only one whom dosen.t have problems with getting interdicted ? I mean ... I get interdicted by npc , even players , and 100% i escape :)) or is just me .... Or maybe is the internet conection ? A slight lag with the server and it thinks your thotrle is dow to zero ? Who knows ?
and about the CQC i want the panel the remain there , don.t care if you see yourself harmless or whatever , i don.t explore also and i don.t mind been a rookie :)) , but i want the rewards from cqc bigger or decals been awarded or something , becouse is eating alot of time , and i.m loosing the main game purpose.

Thanks for all the fixes and updates FD. Made the game even better which is near perfect to me. I 've been waiting 20 years for a game like this. Having said that, I (like other people) believe that CQC should be separated completely from the main game. Good thing that it has an option of its own at the main menu because it's more of an arcade mode, but the CQC rank shouldn't be in my right panel. It should be separated (remove CQC info from main game) or implemented in the game as vital part of it (no problem with that), and enter the Championship from an option inside the stations for example as an event or something, and gain some reputation with my favorite faction maybe. I have my main ship 10.000 LY away from SOL, and now i can take a break and hop in my Condor and go for some quick and juicy pew pew, which is great, BUT if that's the way it's gonna be, then i want the option to hop in to one of my stored ships also and take some time with my other activities, and continue my exploration when i feel like it. It's all about balance and CQC needs it's place in the game. I know you are struggling with many things and you are honestly trying to make things better for us, so thank you again for the amazing game.

I also would like the CQC rating removed as, so far, I've not been interested in it. Also, I've noticed some glitching with planet textures whilst approaching in supercruise but not sure if its just me... anybody else?

I agree that the CQC shouldn't be part of our main game. The rank should only be displayed in the CQC game and frankly it felt awkward to earn credits from the CQC game.
I did a few matches last night and it was really fun! I've only played Deathmatch but will try the other two forms later on. The matching could be better but that might come when more people play it. :)

Agreed that the Interdiction changes were probably needed, but they went too far by a touch. I had a near-perfect record of evading interdiction before the patch. That has now gone to a near-perfect record of being interdicted. And I'm in A-rated, maneuverable ships...there's just now way to keep up with that Escape Vector sometimes...and if you're not on it for 3 seconds, you're dropped. I've also been fighting with it a few times, and had a shot at it, but started taking so much overheat damage I had to submit or tear myself apart. Either way, its a loss.

Combined with the NPC Interdiction changes, I've been train-interdicted in 6 systems out of 14 this evening. Meaning, Jump in, align next, "Charging," Interdicted, fail to evade, normal space outrun, back to supercruise, align, charging, interdicted....wash, rinse, repeat by at least 3 NPCs each time. Annoying.

Since 1.4 was released, I've submitted to all interdictions (for mission reasons) but in the Betas, every interdiction - bar one very random success - was crazily difficult. Almost perfectly centred on the vector, and yet didn't last more than a few seconds. If carrying any kind of cargo that would attract attention, any long journey now is going to be painfully tedious. Constant interdictions with minimal chance of avoidance.

Yuuup.

To note with further data since I posted:

I have had 34 interdictions attempted on me.

20 have caused me to drop out of supercruise
5 have completed within 4 seconds of interdiction, while I did have a chance to pilot out of it the escape vector shook erratically like trying to hone in on a unknown signal way too fast way too close
10 completed after 10 seconds of successful navigation with a fully blue bar which should have allowed escape.
3 completed immediately after starting dropping me out of supercruise and inflicting 7% damage to my ship.

of the 5 interdictions that did not cause me to drop out of supercruise
2 I successfully navigated out of
3 failed for unknown reasons. The interdiction started and then failed randomly.

Of the remaining 9 they were Federal interdiction and I didn't want to deal with this crap with them.

Additionally I've lost another 4 ships due to this (one of which being fully kitted out combat cobra which were lost in about 3 seconds of combat), as either I off a faction, or the npcs doing interdictions now are severely overclassed for the area of space.

I am sorry for my poor English.

I was interested in reasons for recent “interdiction bugs” and tried to find what causing it. With interdiction happening once every 5-10 minutes, it was easy to do some testing and collect statistics.

Please note that everything in the text below is my own conclusions made from personal observation of current game mechanics. I do not know how exactly it implemented in game code.

What I found out was quite surprising. It looks like interdiction itself is not “broken” and works as intended. And problems like instant interdiction, red bar raising while focusing on escape vector, failed evasion attempts with full blue bar and such have a different reason. Namely – possibility of multiple interdictions on single target combined with extremely high interdiction attempt chance.

You fly, someone try to interdict you, you see escape vector marker and try to focus on it. Then someone else tries to interdict you as well.
This can lead to following results:
a) you follow one vector unaware of second interdiction, red bar builds up despite your focus on vector;
b) second escape vector positioned near first, you see position of escape vector rapidly switched between different positions (game shows you vector closest to center of the screen);
c) instant interdiction, just a number of escape vectors in different positions build up red bar so fast that you drop from SC almost instantly.
Possibly, there are other effects as well.

I am new to the game and never seen multiple interdiction on one target before. Maybe it was possible, maybe not. But with extremely increased chance of interdiction attempts from NPCs there is a high probability of more than one NPC trying to interdict you at any given time. And I think this is what leads to aforementioned problems.

Also, I've noticed some glitching with planet textures whilst approaching in supercruise but not sure if its just me... anybody else?

No, it's not just you. I noticed it last night. A little similar to an occasional problem I have with Witcher 3 when textures are temporarily blurry before they fully load. Only lasts a fraction of a second though.

CQC would be better if it was accessed through flying to an arena whilst in open play, seems weird to tack it on as a completely separate game.

Just dropped into a RES last night, and - in that one at least - the graphics seem to be much improved.

Previously - most RES were graphically quite bad, with 3 'bands' of detail. Close up rocks had a lot of detail, then there was a band of rocks that looked like blurry malteasers, then in the distance there were small light-grey rocks/dots. If the RES had that dust/haze it hid the bands and looked fine, but without that haze these bands looked awful.

Now - it's much harder to see any difference between the near and mid-distance rocks, and the far off rocks are similarly coloured, it's a much more subtle effect. The graphics quality of RES do seem to vary from location to location, so fingers crossed.

First post on the forums - bad sign...

I'd rather play the game, but have seriously lost the urge since the patch.

Shame it cost me a Type 7 hauling 232 tons of Gold to find out there's something not right about the interdictions all of a sudden. Ok, it had no shields but then it's NEVER been interdicted out of SC between the planet it was bought at and the one at the other end of the dedicated trade grinding run it was bought and outfitted for...

Please roll back whatever you changed in the NPC interdictions.

Your game is no longer fun, prior interdict balancing was better.
