Crew Profit Cut

So, if I hire newbies and train them on my ships, will their profit cuts increase with rank increase or stay the same?
 
It should increase with rank, but less than hiring the higher ranks.

My Harmless pilot stayed at 2% despite leveling him up to Mostly Harmless. This might be a rounding error.
 
Actually I seem to remember that FD said that it does not go up, one of the major plus points of hiring a cheap pilot.

But I could be wrong. :)
 
Now how to get prettier ones, all of therm are butt-ugly :/

Asking the real questions here.

How is any pilot supposed to wake up to one of those faces each day. He'll think he was kidnapped by thargoids and blast them out the airlock!
 
Real beauty lies in a perfect synchronized attack and kill with your wing man. Who cares about the face:)?

It does matter a bit when your crews faces are pushing the game to be rated R...

Just got a mostly harmless NPC two ranks up to competent. Started at 4%, still at 4%. Probably should have went with a harmless one. :p Anyway, definitely worth it, already spending less than half of what a 'store bought' competent costs, will be many, many times cheaper come elite...

IMO they should be paid for combat services only, they are fighter pilots not space truckers.
So combat bonds, bounties of wanted ships, getting merits through combat etc etc etc
I.e. Go exploring to Sag A* and return with the odd 20 million of cartographic data and having to pay a bunch of inactive fighter pilots, something doesn't seem right here does it......
