Just had an unfortunate encounter with a federation station. It basically granted me permission to land, then destroyed my ship as I was entering for what seamed like no reason. I had been bounty hunting around the nav beacon in Altair and picked up a bounty on myself by accident. I thought I'd better pay it off straight away, so nipped over to Solo Orbiter. I had no other marks against my name as far as I knew, so it was pretty frustrating! I'd earned a few bounties too that I hadn't cashed in yet.
This is just a suggestion, but what about giving the player some info as to what they did wrong, so that they can avoid repeating the same mistakes? Otherwise it feels a bit unfair. Luckily I had enough money to buy back the ship, but I feel like I've wasted a fairly big chunk of my time.
