Horizons Critic and suggestions to Elite Dangerous

Hello,
my name is Denn Sullan, i play Elite Dangerous for ca. 2 Months exesive and have a Type 9 (stand 20.12.15) right now.
I really like the Game but i can t deny this game has some problems as well what happen to do with the design or the lack of it and thats what i wanna talk about !
The purpose of this Topic is to show then and because im not satisfied to sit in a corner and just complaining i also give some suggestion how could do better and also like to see commends from You -reader- for the things i may get wrong or what your suggestions if you have some.
One thing before i Fire up : English isn t really my Language so i appologize already for my misspelings !



Looking for Player Interaction !?

The concerns :

In the Description for the game is that part to read :
With an ever-unfolding player-driven story and community activities, we are always developing new features and content to further expand gameplay.

... what i liked more to see as "just" a bigger Space (season 2 -Horizons- extended on some planet surfaces) is actually more Player interaction !
So far i know there just 2 ways to do that right now .
1. Attack each other (Open play and CqC)
2. Flying in Convoy for more Profits and of course some protection (called flying in wing, gives 5% profit to trading)
Even the things you can do with NPCs are very limited, appearently theres no way to tell a Pirat just to off because you have much more Firepower and seens adorable that he is even trying and you don t need the reward for him because from moving Goods alone gives you 10 times more money as you ever can get from destroyng such a braindead CPU-screwhead anyway (more later).

To be fair, i never tried Powerplay ... looks boring, causes some places in space with the desription : high Combat zone (or something like that) and i never heard about that a station was involved or even destroyed in progress.
Im actually a peacefull-guy , a buisness-guy and also Miner.
I Would love to Trade with other Players and would even take Missions from them, its seens pointless to do so with NPCs, one reason why i never touched World of Warcraft.


The Suggestions :

So what to do else ?
Well, sometimes i liked to give Players as Reward for Escord-missions or one was nice enough to shoot one of the screwheads, i mentioned, nearby a Outpost from my back or One supported my with Limpeds on 2 hours mining-mission !
You can arguing now that that leads to some players just give players money just because for no exchange what may causes in beginners with Anacondas but no experience - ok.
Another suggestion : let make players Contracts for basic stuff and a posibility to fail !
Example : Player B agree to escord Player A from System X, Station Y to System Z, Station Zeta Condition for Failure . Playership A becomes Destroyed
Little background : as a Trader i made a lot risky descitions, like:buy a Type 6 and buy so much Palladium so there was nothing for ensurence anymore.
- that was the time i really liked to have a strong wingman on my side .....
... The thing is : the game has a lot space, without some players you can do things together, it becomes very lonely out there, the ability to cooperate more would fill it up, quick
-well, in my oppinion ...



Give Ore Purpose !

The Concerns and Suggetions :
With Horrizons we have kind of give Ore purpose, with a SRV-Ground vehicle you can use the stuff you collect for repairs and and refill fuel for SRVs .. great ....
What is with Crafting things as Limpeds, Laserbeams, Shieldgenerators, Ammonition, etc ?
What is Painit good for ?
What makes the market prices ?
Carring Ore and Goods don t really gives you much money so why not buy and sell Weapons and other stuff you can equip your ships.
-of course you have to translate things like modul size 8 to cargospace to avoid that someone becomes stupid rich because a cargo-module of 256 Tons just takes 1 Tons Cargo-space.
Even if not all stations have everything, it also would be nice some have real difference in things they can offer like stations who have good playersupport (and a lot stuff) and some less , would may cause in some stations who more players come together, Player with the desire to become Pirats having points they can intercept Traders, and other Players who wanna be Bountyhunter can looking for troublemakers (working without involving my point : Looking for Player Interaction !?).
If you do so, it would my work that way : outposts in space are factories (they made out of modules so its really silly that NO outpost has Big Landing pads,by the way), on planets are the factories and residental places, the big stations are central markets and residental places as well... just saying !



Bulletin board, wth ?!

The Concerns and co :
I really liked to ask the developers a lot to the bulletin board in person such as :
Why need that thing so long to coming up just for a bunch of random missions ?
Does it really need that long to compare the random missions with my states ?
If there is a server-communication what causes the delay, why isn t there any mission crossing with a mission of another player like :
i become mission to deliver Goods just in time to a another Station and another player becomes the msiion to intercept me and destroy me or force me to give the cargo it to him ?
Even with my long experience as trader, i still just get missions for 2-8 tons of goods ... i have a CARGOSPACE of over 500 Tons !
Why is that so ?
True story: with Cobra III i got deliver missions fro 200K-250K money, as i got a type 6 only deliver missions for 100k-150K, WTH ?
(i also read something about that even in Powerplay there some missions with carring stuff from A to B and also doesn t care what big Cargospace you got)
How much times i have to donate money and goods to a station so that they don t have to ask for donations anymore ?
- Goddamit i delivered TONs of food, how many hungry peoples can fit on a station ?
Why i got missions for destroy NPCs ship with combatskill : Harmless ? - what they doing so bad with that low skill ?

i could go on and on and on , the board is kind of mistery to me, maybe just me so lets go on.



Weapon balance broken ?

Whats wrong:
Is it just me or are all Laserweapons awesome and everything with ballistics and missiles weak ?
Laser:
- Closed distance to enemy extreme fast
- Makes good damage speacialy agains shields
- Has no ammunition restrictions (so long power is avaiable)
- High accuracy
- High/superior range
- If weapon deployed, ready in no time

Ballistic based weapons:
- Closed distance to enemy with some delay (more distance = more time delay)
- Makes average damage on shields, a bit better on armor as laser
- The Damage you can deal depends of the amount of ammunition you carring (limited by developer, no way to increase with cargospace,kind of random)
- average accuracy on short range, with increasing distance to target, the accuracy decreasing !
- If weapon deployed, ready after ca 1-2 seconds after pushing fire-button, delay for few seconds if ammunition has been exhausted and needs to be recharged

Missiles:
- Closed distance with low speed
- Unknown (i really don t know, my Pointdefense does always a good job to protect my ship from that, the only time i hat non, i avoided a impact by simply pull up)
- ... if i think about, the last point says everything : Missiles are worst weapon EVER in that game !

How may to fix it:

Make Laserweapons less evective as ballistics because the limited ammo, specialy if you, the devolper, decided how many ammunition the player can carry ... makes a quality versus quantity - thing : the guy with the gattling has the chance to end it quick, the one with the laser to win in the end.

Remove Missiles and replace them with rocket lafette so that point defense still has a purpose because it can still shoot incoming rockets and the attacker has a chance to hit if he get the other ship from a dead angle or comes close enough and the Pointdefense is overloaded with amount of rockets comes along



CQC and Communication

Why not make difference classes : very light (what we have in CQC now),light (Sidewinder,eagle,adder),medium(Cobra III,etc) and Heavy (you know).
That would players give the opportunity to try another ships, test and improve the combat skills for futur ships and ships the players already owned.
But even if that happen, one thing is still mendetory here : V O I C E Communication !
If you doing Open play, typing for communication is fine, you have X minutes time between the stars, you know, but CQC suppose to be a quick-gameplay what DESPERATE need Voice Communication for the modes : Team Death Match and Capture The Flage !
Talking about things i miss in CQC, why i don t become the sensor-informations of the other teammates in TDM ?
How can it be that keys like the "Cycle Next Target", "Select Highest Threat" or "Cycle next Hostile Target" NOT working - in CQC, a separted part of your game there you need is the most ???
- also CQC has no Browser what makes it to a : maybe there players you can play with , maybe not if you waiting 5 min and nothing happens ...
Also i liked to know, why can i fire over 6 seconds on a enemy, he don t blow up, but someone with same class of ship and also is using laser kills me in like 2-3 seconds ?! (is hard not to think that cheater have there the most fun)



E : D to the Future ?

What will happen in the 3rd Season of Elite: Dangerous after Horizons ?
Maybe it becomes Elite : Dangerous Horizons Underground !
Finally : you can land on ALL planets, even Gas giants if you can avoid the heavy storms there, and also DIG into the ground, under the surface of Planets to see more empty places and shoot the rarely players you can encounter there.
But seriosly, i by myselfe was under the illusion that if i get rich enough i can buy my own Outpost/Station and having fun by flying arround and also become part of the big market, you know, crafting ships, items, weapons - buy it from other players by trying to atractem with good prices buy/sell and contracts and probadly my own trading fleet, players preferred before NPCs.
... So i brought a lot stuff up here and i could bring up some more but i like to see who agrees with me , who has own concerns, who has his own Sugestions for now and the future of the game and who has to tell me about whats right and whats wrong, i just typed here.
