Not a newcomer but thought this question and answer maybe of use to newcomers. I play on PS4 and wondered, when I discover new star systems/planets, cash it in and get the credit does my name appear on the PC and XBox versions?

I'm pretty sure it's cross-platform. If you come across any systems with my name on them, that'll confirm it 
Yes it does apply to all platforms. That was why we had so many "first discovered by" as "Validating" for ages - the XBone had a glitch.
