So, hope I wasn't the only one who at one point in FDev stream heard the answer that it "should be" possible to decode the LP.
After many questions can it be done, I think Bruce (on the right) leaned to mic and just said should be, nothing else.

I haven’t been following the threads about it but it seems to me that the Adamastor set off in that direction, got the same info the Listening Post contains, then did a huge handbrake turn to scoot off to the Coalsack nebula.
As the year in the signals pre-dates the alleged first contact with Thargoids by something like 14 years, I reckon it’s something to do with that.
Watching it again. Check first reply on 36'50"...

I dont get why I keep hearing that this could be first contact with the goids? In the Codex under Human-Thargoid contact it says that first recorded encounter with a goid ship was in 2849 and then goes on to say, "although earlier undocumented encounters are belived to have taken place. In the years that followed , contact with lone Thargoid vessels was intermittently reported" This surely has to be established lore since it is in the codex?
