Scanned the SRV 2 days ago. It just reports message corrupted, so you're not missing anything.

If anyone was wondering about any other messages encoded with different spacings.

I used the 'corrected' encrypted message with that one space removed, it's text was the 'message' referenced in the script.
the sauce is on the last line, but also on the 9th line you have the decrypted message but including the '8' we've accepted as the key.

A short python script and it's output, printing the character form every nth place, and starting on every nth character:

It depends. If knowledge of your injury is going to compromise what you're doing, then definitely.

The need to encrypt is contingent on the period the information is valid for and the consequence of compromise.

A rando soldier being shot in a firefight with the enemy? Could be in plain. That you busted your femur and severed a femeral artery while operating covertly behind enemy lines? Definitely encrypted.

Yes. Not even intentionally, just picked up the pod out of habit both times I grabbed MAs from that site. So I left the CSN with 2 Murphy's and 2 of his canisters of HE Suits in my hold.

And re-applied the original rule on the cut text to see if anything else stood out other than the 4s:

Nothing standing out there obviously to me other than the fours, but nevertheless it's an odd thing to occur. Possibly just a completely random artefact, but it is suggestive of something being there. Assuming there's some kind of plain substitution at this point, then the only thing that occurs to me is '4' = '.' as groups of them do appear as separators.

Very possibly just a wild goose chase at this point though.

Think so, Ive closed the thread twice :)

weve found all locations, may be one secret' outstanding maybe not, may be a partial code outstanding but probably not.

Meanwhile the Imps have got drunk on Ginger Beer and power again and driven their warships into Fed space which has backfired as everyone is taking the chance to give the Imps a kicking...

It will turn out to make a bit more sense in the future as the jigsaw pieces make a picture.....thats how this game works, its not short term at all and a lot of it is hinted at and inferred and put it together yourself, more fun that way than being spoon fed or having an NPC just tell you the plot.
