Current mapped systems need to be reset to level the playing field

Some people like racing and competition. I think that mind set is good, and better than "I don't care for anything, why you bro so upset?".

First mapped in Shinrartha ment you need to have fast ship, well made plan and good concentration. At least theoretically.

In reality - who first patched and had luck to not be kicked from the game has the first discoveries.

If it helps to ease your pain, I can tell you that nobody actually gives a single flying fart about who first discovered what.

This.

"Ah, this system was first discovered by [bloke I never heard of, have never encountered, never seen on the forums and may not actually exist for all I know/care]" Add in that I'm unlikely to be back...

I like getting 'firsts' but only so's I get more moneh. If somebody's beat me to it, well there's a system nearby that they missed so....

It's completely unfair that there are no "killed the dude who first mapped the system" tags...

You mean: 'It's completely unfair that there are no "griefed the dude who first mapped the system" tags..'

because as we all "know" anyone who kills a player in ED is a griefer.

Lotta whining, lotta mocking. How about a moment of quiet respect for the FDev login, matchmaking, and adjudication servers (whatever those latter things are), which are clearly all VMs running on a single Commodore 64, powered by hamsters running on exercise wheels. Those little rodents are doing pretty good, considering!

Frontier should just have let Jameson map the entire Bubble.

Oh how I would laugh.

That would have been more sensible perhaps.
I think I got my name on a couple planets I wanted but we'll have to wait and see, it has been very unstable.
Blocking first mapped tags on all inhabbited systems would have been a resonable thing to do and prevented a rather unfair gold rush.

They should never, ever have allowed First Mapped to be the credit in the Codex; they should just have called the previous Discovered By and submitted that for everything already mapped... as it is, the servers are being hammered by people trying to claim credit for the most well known areas; I've seen mutiple people talking about trying to claim Shinrata for instance. If nothing else, if Frontier really want to try and make the grind timegate new mechanics matter, give them "Mapped By" locally, and maybe have a high score table in the codex for people submitting past data... but it was always going to be a server destroying orgy of selfishness starting the Codex from scratch.

Actually, I sneaked in and mapped every damned rock in the bubble (my time-warp is exhausted now, so the Colonia bubble is free to anyone who wants it.)

I mayhave been using a lot of [quite well known] aliases as I went, but they are all mine! I tell you…

So the rush to get first mapped on key systems was completely luck based due to the servers. I propose they be reset again once servers are fixed in order to level the playing field and give people a fair chance at getting first mapped tags.

That’s the RNG of life my friend
