Help came from this thread (from the link in my previous post above about the print tool:
JGM writes:
"Your issue is probably that you have multiple .binds files in your %LOCALAPPDATA%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings directory with the same name inside the XML file. Commonly this is because you manually copied an existing file to make a backup but don't alter the contents of the file.
If you look at the second line of your custom binds file you'll see it say something like:
<Root PresetName="Custom" MajorVersion="1" MinorVersion="8">
You need to change the PresetName to something else, for example:
<Root PresetName="Backup" MajorVersion="1" MinorVersion="8">
or of course just delete the backup file(s) or move them to another directory.
The web site does allow users to mark their bindings as public but there is no internal directory of them so they aren't searchable at the moment. It's something that I'd like to add but I don't have a lot of time at current so it's unlikely to make it for at least the next month."
Here's what I Did..
I created a new directory and moved my Backup files into it. Tried a couple of changes and it held.
Thanks JGM
