Custom sound

I was pretty confused about no custom music this time??

Up untill now every piece of news confirmed this game had everything we were asking for.
But it was pretty unexpected to read this game would not support custom music??

To me that was a pretty core feature of RCT3. Music is the final touch to make a certain ride have a certain atmosphere.

is it 100% confirmed this game really will not allow to play your own MP3 file at a certain ride or loudspeaker?

You 100% right !

When I read "no indoor rides, no custom textures, no custom music" I was really devastated.
I hope they will think again about this question.

Same here...

No darkrides i can more or less understand as it will be quite complicate to make it fully functional and realistic. And i was more or less happy with the way we could do it in RCT3 so i guess we will be able to do pretty much the same thing in PC.

I was a bit surprised as well about no custom textures! I had tought Frontier was realizing that custom scenery is VERY important to the game. In RCT3 it was quite difficult to create a piece of scenery so i had hoped this game would support a certain way of adding more scenery. At least let us add textures so we can make walls have multiple styles.
(CS is still created for RCT3 to this day, (over 10 years after launch!!) that must be an overwhelming statement to how important it is)

And then music, i really dont understand why??

I hope this changes, but this is also why I'm into both PC and RCTW. Of course I'm screwed if both games don't offer this feature.

This is my only criticism to how they are handling things right now. Texture billboards and custom music missing.
If they add them in an update, I will be more than happy.
If they never add them, and same with custom scenery, I really hope the community makes some mods for the game so at the end of the day, even if its a little more difficult, we will have all this things.

Still I really hope they rethink about texture billboards and custom music. They said they were thinkinh to ad the fireworks sytem RCT3 had in a future update or expansion, wouldnt surpirse me if custom music is added in that same update.

If they allow modding at all, with custom objects and textures, it wouldn't be much of a problem with custom billboards at least. But that's off-topic here.

I'm curious though.. What music would you play if you could use custom music?

Yes, we can make anything if they allow modding (and even if not, with breaking the game, with more time), but this is not as "intuitive" and "easy" for the player as it was if provided in the initial game.

Any music (or sound, it's not just about the music) that you can find in any (flat/thrill/dark)ride, any (classic/dark)coaster, any park, any movie/serie/video game, from any singers/DJ, anything in fact ...

And of course, if our park are public (we dont know yet about this feature, if it's possible to visit others parks) and so, we need "non-commercial royalty free music" then music and sound from many "Music Library" (like ccmixter.org, incompetech.com, etc...).

But if it is possible to visit the parks of other players in real time, I guess they thought a partnership, and they integrate a library (with thousands of sound and music) directly in the game . This could justify the fact that no music (and textures too) is can be imported.

I dont know, just a guess ...

Maybe I'm wrong but didn't they say they would look into adding this later down the road and it was not a main focus at the for front of development?

Yes, thats what it sounded.
Im not to worried right now. Could be a free update in the future, thats what happened with billboards in RCT3.

I mean they are the ones that made RCT3 so they know what we want, and they also know what things will be a huge hit and what could come later in a update. I pumped for whatever they bring and I'm sure music and all the other things people are worried about will come in due time.

I always used custom music in RCT3. I mostly played soundtracks, music from theme parks and my own music or effects. If we can get this idea on their list that would be great (it isn't on their list of features). I wouldn't mind if it comes later after release.
Playing music on the speakers, but also the CSO speakers (like the rock speakers or bigger speakers for stages) was great.
