Cutter audio glitch still unfixed...... Really?

I just posted this over on the PS4 board as well. Here is my post.

I am probably done with this game at this point. This is basically a game breaking glitch about the cutter that I have created multiple bug topics about since last November. All I've ever gotten was that they are 'looking into the problem'

This is getting pretty rediculous. I've double checked to make sure it's not just my loadout or systems (as in hardware). I've logged in on my friends PS4 under my account with the same issues. I have 2 friends that have the exact issue as me, and another person I've just recently started talking to on the game that has the same problem. Almost everyone I know with a cutter on PS4 and pro has this issue. So it's not just me.

What happens is an audio glitch that progressively gets worse the longer you play. It is triggered by landing at space stations, it won't get worse or show up until you keep landing at space stations. After about the 6th to 8th space station landing you will start notice audio crackle. Just like if any of you have been playing since last year and alot of ships would audio crackle when going through the mail slot.

This will get worse and worse and you will get more crackle each time you go into a station, it gets really albad after about 45 minutes. Eventually all your audio will cut out everywhere, and you will hear nothing but crackle even outside of space stations.

I consider it pretty game breaking, because you literally have to restart the game every 30 to 45 minutes which gets really old really fast. Idk why they won't address this issue. It also happens with some of the smaller federation ships, although I can't remember which one's.

I was hoping with this being their huge bug fix patch that they would actually address it as me and others have posted numerous bug threads about it on the bug report form for PS4. They have even fixed other PS4 related issues, this wasn't even mentioned. I have tested it and the issue still remains. I do not know why they will not fix this issue after a full year. It's insane, and it's not a small issue either, it makes playing in the cutter on PS4 a chore instead of fun because you constantly have to restart the game every half hour.

If you guys are also experiencing this please post here as well. I want to get as many people as I can together with this so I can make yet another bug threads with more people commenting on the issue. A few people posting about it they think it's a small issue, but if they can see how widespread it is maybe they can do something.

Now I'm stuck in a loading pattern. My game just crashed jumping to a new system, trying to reload the game results in the image of my ship spinning and crashing the game again.

Is this happening on PC and Xbox as well? This patch did not go well for ps4

Cant say i have ever heard this but the cutter does seem to have some very odd problems. It judders and shakes for no obvious reason occasionally and it doesnt line up properly with in station landing pads. I have seen the docking computer bounce my cutter off the ground repeatedly while trying to land (really conveniently when i had no shield) and even when it does land it has to "ice skate" into a central position

Sorry man. Worst I've had is some server disconnects and the hang glitch that eventually recovers.

I play on both PC and PS4-pro. I would have issues with the ps4 audio quite a bit, something worth trying is to clear the system cache.

Another thing that stopped almost all issues i had with other games was to actually turn off the ps4, not enter rest mode. This is in effect the same as a pc powering off rather than sleep mode.

I read when the cutter was first released it had all kinds of weird issues. One of them being it actually wouldn't fit through the mailslot gate unless you had the landing gear out? Lol.

That's the audio glitch at about 50 percent. After about 30 minutes of gameplay. It gets much worse then that. At that point it only happens in the space station as you can see in the videos. After playing for about 20 more minutes that's the only sound you hear, no matter where you are.

What happens if you switch ships while this is going on?

Never owned a Cutter, but I hear the crackling sometimes with other ships on PC. But in my case it's a rare occurrence and doesn't seem to get worse over time.

The problem stops as soon as you switch ships. I can switch to my ship launch fighter and back to the cutter and it goes away. Then slowly comes back after 30 minutes.

I can switch to my conda immediately and the issue stops. It's def related to the ship.

I can see how this would be annoying, but why quit the game over this? Just stop flying the cutter?

I grinded for like 4 months just to get the cutter. I did all that before the rank grinding became easy. It was really the only ship I was ever interested in using as a late game end ship basically. I only had a conda to hold me over till I got a cutter.

A few months sure. I don't expect them to fix bugs instantly. But if you look at the PS4 bug forms. I have been complaining about this for over a year, and all I ever got was that they are looking into it. I feel like they just don't give a damn at this point about alot of the issues on console, and it makes me very hesitant about the game for the future.

I literally did nothing in elite dangerous when I played it except rank grinding missions for 4 months. Hundreds upon hundreds of gameplay hours over the span of 4 months for this. Lol. That's why I am mad XD .

The Cutter also has sound issue on the PS4 for me. It's similair to the issues the game had when firing multicannons on the xbox before too. Stuttering and crackling and sound cutting out etc. Awful.

FD are making a lot of money from the game sales and the cosmetics being entirely behind a pay wall, so this trend of ignoring fixing some things and now releasing Q4 with some bad bugs and broken and blatantly untested elements (combat zones and long freeze ups during general play, weapons not firing when boosting or firing main fire group etc), it kind of annoys me out of principle.

I don't know what the old grind was like, sorry. I would say what it took me to reach Duke, but that would be mean. At least you could go for Admiral and get it relatively quickly now.

Nah no worries I don't get offended. When I did it really the only option was donation missions. You had to grind for money and spend most of it on donation missions to rank up at any type of reasonable speed.

I believe all versions of the cutter had sound issues at some point, but they appear to have fixed it for every version except the PS4 :(

I can understand why you may be frustrated at this issue. I'm on xbox and i can confirm it doesn't happen there. I know w aouple of friends on ps4 and they don't have this problem either.

It is clearly affecting you. However it is a problem with one ship. And it is you that chose to do nothing else but work for this ship. No one forced you to buy it, if you think it was a grind, that is because you chose to do nothing else. Aslo to suggest that your only option was to earn money to do donation missions is disingenuous at best.

The bug is clearly NOT game breaking. Turn the sound off and it's playable. So not broke. I agree it must be very very frustrating for you and it may be making the game unenjoyable, but that isn't game breaking.

PC Master-Racer here. Have never experienced this.
That said, I also don’t generally spend a great deal of time in my Cutter. It may be one of my favorite looking ships, but I don’t particularly like flying it and would never denigrate it to the role of cargo hauler. I have a Type-9 for that.

It does a fine job as a Combat ship, proved abysmal as an explorer in beta, is adequate as a people mover, though it still has the flight handling of a block of soap on ice.

Seeing that you’ve tried this on multiple consoles I suspect this may be a console issue. Like any issue of this sort expecting an overnight resolution is unrealistic. These sorts of issues can be dreadfully difficult to track down and resolve.

The Xbox issue revolved around multicannons on the ship correct? Kind of like one of the above posters mentioned? I know it has been fixed on Xbox (athough that was an issue across all ships right? It had to do with multicannons?)

Yes I did choose to get it. What I didn't know was that the ship was bugged before I got it. When I was farming the missions for the ship the only 2 mission types where the delivery which basically gives you Data delivery or donation ( this was well before the locations showed up that was found to make grinding much much faster.)

Overall gamebreaking considering all mechanics no, it's borderline when using that ship though, unless you wanna restart every half hour.

We will just agree to disagree about it being a grind. 90 percent of elite is a grind of some sort.

I've also found other people say they haven't had the issue to. Most of them I have convinced otherwise once I told them to go to the bubble and do trading for an hour in the cutter XD. If your doing a playthrough and only land at 4 or 5 major stations you will not notice. For some reason it doesn't happen on planetary stations.

I agree I should not expect a fix overnight and I haven't. Those videos were taken a year ago, I believe they are even dated in the YouTube link. It has been a full year since I first posted about it.
