CV1 Sorry, EliteDangerous64.exe is taking a while to load.

Horizons owner and have been struggling to get CV1 to work with Elite on Win 10. I have read a lot of suggestions. 1: When I try to get Elite from Oculus Home, it prompts for money. I shouldn't have to pay again - I am a life time expansion member. When I start Elite from the desktop, the oculus kicks in and gives me the 'Sorry' message and Elite never displays in the CV1 but the elite executable is running in the Task Manager. So I stopped the Oculus service that runs from the Windows Services so I could get Elite desktop up to change the Graphics to HMD Headphones. But, the 3D option in Graphics only shows: Off, Anaglyph(?), Side by Side. If I restart the Oculus service, I get back to Oculus home and Elite is still running on the Desktop.

Does anyone know how to manually modify the Elite configuration files to specify HMD Headphones? Maybe that will work.

Fransoos is right here? I had the same problems. At best do it from the desktop. Open the Oculus shop and enter the settings, there you can allow 3rd party software to use the Rift. Only has to be done once and all Rift supporting apps outside the store will find and use the Rift.

Hi,

1. First try as suggested above if not already. This should fix it in 90% of cases.
2. Some people have to then manually select HMD Headphones. I was not able to do this despite having done step 1 as was still in the same position you describe above - elite was running but nothing on desktop or in rift.
3. I tried manually setting in the config files. It didn't work for me but I know where it is so will dig it out when I get home if you have no luck with no.1 or above or no. 4 below...
4. I had my rift plugged into a different graphics card than my monitor. If you have an SLI setup ensure rift and all other monitors are on the same card and turn SLI off (once you're in it introduces latency and isn't properly supported). This fixed the issue for me.
5. If all else fails you don't have to pay again for an oculus store install - just go and get an oculus key from FD's website and type it in the oculus store. I did this as part of my troubleshooting but it still did the same thing until I did 4 above.
