[CV1] Web browser in game

Hi CMDRs,

I've been trying to find a solution to this for weeks.
So here's the thing: I'd like to be able to switch to a web browser while playing Elite. I spent hours and hours reading and experimenting, nothing worked.

Tried so far:
- Launching ED in SteamVR:
Doesn't work, pressing the home butting displays Oculus home and not Steam Overlay

- Bigscreen + ED from Oculus Home:
Doesn't work, only one app at a time

- Bigscreen + ED from SteamVR:
Doesn't work, only one app at a time

- Bigscreen from Oculus Home + ED from steam
Doesn't work, ED seems to take ownership of the rift and Bigscreen doesn't display anymore

Do you guys have any working solution to be able to see a web browser or the desktop without having to take the rift off?
This thing really gets me frustrated, I'm pretty mad at Oculus for not delivering such an obvious feature. I wonder what Tests and Validation looks like at Oculus...

Its still in beta and has some bugs / flaws but you can browse the web etc using it.

Problem is that VR actually does not support app multitasking

I'm following "V" development closely, but I will not give it a shot until full joystick support.

its the only solution to ops question... at least for now. I guess its up to the op if he uses it or not.

Virtual Desktop + autohotkey script to switch windows functions as a VR alt+tab for me.
