Game Discussions Cyberpunk 2077 - official gameplay

I've no doubt it will eventually become a classic that maybe even eclipses Witcher 3, but my main concern really is whether the release day bugs are going to be so severe that the game is unplayable for the first week or two. I've booked the following week off work to play. 😄
Had they released the game in September, I'd have done just that. Sadly in November it will be so busy here that I simply can't afford to take a couple days off. Benefits of being your own boss, eh.
So I'll be working the days and playing the nights. Welp, I'm gonna die, am I not. :D

Like I said...GOG is a wholly owned subsidiary of CDPR. The 2 CEO's of CDPR, one present the other former, Marcin Iwiński and Michał Kiciński, founded 'Good Old Games' (as it was then) as a branch of the original company, CD Projekt in the mid 90's distributing DRM free western games to a game starved eastern Europe. It paid for their beginnings as a game development studio in their own right under the banner of CD Projekt Red.
While we're at the history lesson, I can add a bit more.

The two "CEOs" actually started their carreer and made their first money in eastern bootleg business. Yep. They started their company as professional pirates! (To their defense, at the time they were doing that, most of the games they were distributing on burnt CDs didn't have any official distribution in Poland, Czechoslovakia or Hungary.
Then they one-up themselves and started doing translations to several ex-Eastern block languages. First, again, unofficial, but slowly official as companies noticed them and started hiring them as localized distributors.
After that, well, you've covered that nicely. They started hoarding older games (legally this time) and releasing them DRM free. :)

Before I was forced to create a Steam account just two years ago (because of VR), most of my library was on GOG. And I definitely purchase all CDPR games through GOG, simply because that way CRPR will get a 100% of my money.

They really are the good guys of the gaming industry. Despite being very demanding when comes to their empoyees, but then again, it's not like they themselves are slacking off.

If somebody tries to tell you game development is not a demanding job:

This is just a span of 11 years.

I have no idea what this game is like, but I am very much excited for release day. Can’t wait!

I am surprised how a game that is a sequel to cyberpunk 2020 from 1988 has garnered a lot of traction. Plus, kinda awesome that Cyberpunk 2077 is launching in 2020, the year the prequel is named. Next game in the series may be in the year 2077 😂

No. Steam takes 30% of the price, the rest goes to the developers/publishers. I don't know what percentage GOG take. So in refunding the full price they paid, out of their pocket, the developers/publishers portion. This seems decent behaviour towards their customers, as no matter how long you'd had the game for, you got a full refund. For a problem that they had no control over.
I see what you mean now.

I think there are two reasons for that. Many people, even non-fans, still consider cyberpunk genre to be "cool". But the main reason is simply that it's from CDPR. :)
I think so. Cyberpunk is not so distant but still science fiction. I played CP table-top RPG a lot and wouldn't mind an illustrated choreography now. The different perceptions of what looks how is always interesting. And I think they can pull it off in a good way.

Two hours sometimes isn't enough to get a good feel for the game. For example, Star Wars Squadrons took me well over an hour just to get my controls set up.

Took me longer to get binds I liked in Elite: Dangerous than it did for me to do a solo, high-completion, play through of the entire Baldur's Gate trilogy (BG 1 + ToSC & GB 2 + ToB).

Setting up key binds in Arma 3 is an long term ongoing project :D

OK fair points all, but CP2077 will be WASD and mouse. :ROFLMAO:

It's a low risk, and two hours will be more than enough time I think... even if it's only scratching the surface (which I hope it would be).

High class escorts x 6 and evenings full of class A drugs will do that also :)

Two hours is nothing especially not in story games. I've used steam refunds about thrice. One was where I could immediately say it's crab. The rest were really edging two hours.

Can this FLUPPIN thing release already please. It's still over a month away and I've run out of things to amuse me. I do not wish to go through my back log again.
