Anaconda has damage models (bent armor plates, hull breaches, sparks and small explosions) Its very cool and i do not understand why no other ships have it. Please add damage models to all ships.
Are you familiar with the concept of money?i do not understand why no other ships have it.

This has been discussed a lot over the years and it's something I am a little disappointed has not been added. Having to rework all ships (except the conda of course) would be a lot of work for not that much benefit though.
I'd be happy enough with persistent laser scores & other cosmetic layers to indicate a damaged ship, even if (like the conda) it is only tied to hull percentage and not a unique representation of damage received (so no drawing rude shapes on people's hulls).
It is a shame the damage modelling was not taken further though.
The other thing of course is the never ending demands for ship interiors, having damage models as described would also require interior modeling to reflect the exterior damage unless both were carefully designed not to intersect, but then what point hull breach is it doesn't reflect in interior damage? I would personally go for purely cosmetic effects myself, damage models and ship interiors would be much harder to pull off than one or the other.
I mean sure, having a hull breach on a ship with an interior we could potentially get sucked out of would be more work, I think the potential benefit to that would if anything be rather more. It would be very, very cool if that were possible![]()
You're reminding me of the heady days. When ships would get external damage and you could see into the interior. Small ships would be able to enter a larger ships shields and dislodge the cargo to steal it. Man, those were the days. Shoulda kept selling those dreams in jpg form. Also apply to cargo and other stuff, but what happens then? Should such major damage be only repairable at a shipyard? And what happens if the hull gets damaged where weapon mounts are, is that weapon unusable until repaired at a shipyard? At the moment it's just a matter of moving away from combat and use your AFMU, but how immersive would it be to be able to repair major hull damage like that. Personally I would be ok with it being only repairable at a shipyard and the weapon unusable, if it applied to all ships it would be fair and it would also create an entire new area of tactics for serious combat ships.
Yeah imagine the interior off your ship being exposed to vacuum, your bridge has a door at the back so it would retain pressureI mean sure, having a hull breach on a ship with an interior we could potentially get sucked out of would be more work, I think the potential benefit to that would if anything be rather more.
