Hello there,
I've spent the last 2 days collecting and conducting a quick analysis of data about Thargoid surface sites. I was curious to determine if there's anything common among the systems where they are found. And indeed, there is - in 223 out of 229 systems, there is either an Ammonia World or an Ammonia Gas Giant. They are also most commonly found in systems with G, F, and K stars (20%, 20%, and 32%, respectively). I also measured the temperature and gravity on each planet and found that the range for their sites is 78-246K and 0.04-0.48 gravities.
Many more details are compiled in the Google Sheet I worked on. Here's the link: Google Sheet Link
The first sheet contains data for each Thargoid surface site, and the second one presents data analysis.
I hope someone will find it helpful for trying to discover new Thargoid sites. I believe we can see a clear pattern in where they are spawned. Additionally, I can envision that someone with good programming skills could develop an app that compares in-game journal information with the data I've gathered and informs the user whether a possible Thargoid planet is in the system.
Side note - I've never visited Thargoid surface site - too scared!
Stay safe commanders.
EDIT: in the sheet numbers "1" dont correspond with quantity of for example Ammonia Worlds found but serve as "yes" in order for google to count it properly. There are systems with multiple AW or AGS but I didn't specify the quantity.
