Data Scan Planetary Base

Hi.

I'm attempting a finance data acquisition mission at Andrews Terminal, Ross 1057.

So I land outside of the trespass zone, get in buggy and head towards the base to scan the datalink. However, I keep getting a trespass warning and then an attack from base defence forces.

Am I doing something wrong. I've done quite a few of these types of mission and have not had this problem before.

Any help would be most gratefully appreciated.

Always land at least 3k's from base and dismiss you ship once you have the site locked in on you srv. It will save you more times than not in the future.
There are a variety of bases you will eventually get to them all. Some though they are of a different design are "Public" and some are "Private". There's no way of knowing exactly until you either cross the trespass line or target the beacon it self. Obviously if you cross a trespass line you know it's private. If there isn't a trespass line and when you target the beacon, pay attention to what it states it is, it will be either public or private. If it's public, no sweat. If it's private, get ready to get the hell out of there.

Some bases have a cop parked close by, it will take after you and with no where to run, you will be destroyed. Not a problem, because you'll re-spawn in you ship out of reach of everything, set a course and go. Some bases will have an NPC parked close. If it's wanted, I generally will while hovering above it, pinn it to the ground with the nose of my ship and just blast the hell out of it till it goes boom. Land, scan the beacon and go.

Before you chose the mission, sort the missions to show only “legal” missions. If it is legal, you should only find a “public” access point. If it doesn’t show up once the missions are sorted by “legal” status, then you know it’s “privately”. If you want the illegal mission, just unsort the missions and select it and be prepared to fight your way through it. Regards.
