Day 64 of a broken background sim

There are 3000+ reports with specifics, completely conforming all FDev requirements to bug reports. Sounds like enough work performed by players, which actually should have been made by FDev QA.
Though barely 100 of those bugs are fixed yet, after whole month of work of those 100+ people who work on ED according to FDev.

Bug fixes by FD?!

Since the Thargoid attacks are now interwoven with the BGS this deserves to be here.

The system

The prior week:
EE1 - Palanti
EE2 - Ariatia
EE3 - Pleiades Sector KC-V C2-4
EE4 - Kareco
EE5 - Ce Bootis
EE6 - HIP 23395

This past week:
EE1 Celaeno (over 3500 kills)
EE2 Atlas(over 3500 kills)
EE3 Asterope
EE4 Apishna
EE5 GQ Virginis
EE6 HIP 24046

And likely these this coming week:
EE1 Judumlia
EE2 Camulus
EE3 Anca
EE4 LTT 911
EE5 LTT 5455
EE6 Ross 409

The factions involved

Thargoids vs the Rest

The dates of the conflict

Last 3 weeks or so...

The actions performed including the name of Commanders performing them

- Organised defence of a number of systems
- Reported the bug but it remains unacknowledged

The expected results

1. Systems are marked as Infested on Galaxy Map until cleared. Providing a means to gauge if it has been protected.
2. CMDRs significant efforts to protect systems get a commensurate reward
3. Even better a more visible indicator would be preferred. But restoring the Infested indictor what was already in place is better than nothing.

The actual results

Since the bug has occurred every system that has been in Infestion has been invisible and every system has burned(100% of them). Dramatically increasing the rate of damaged stations even those that had significant defences organised.

This bug occurring was the turning point of going from a string of successfully defences to all failing.

If the problem is mis-recording of contributions (and early enough in the chain), that sort of automated report is completely useless.
- the factions were in conflict
- contributions were made by CMDRs
- the balance of the recorded contributions matches the result ... just not what the CMDRs thought they were doing.
I suspect something like that is why the earlier statement said they were "happy with the balance".

Nevertheless there have been enough instances - a few recent CGs, for example - where the resulting influence swing has been so implausible that if that is the case, they should be able to check "what contributions were recorded" versus "what contributions would you plausibly expect to see in a CG system" and work from there.

Depends where the bug is, I think. If it is at the tick calculation level, this would find it. If on the other hand it is at the recording of effort, it may still help, but the query would just need to be adjusted. If it is recorded which faction the CMDR chose correctly, it should still be able to show a discrepancy between result and those choices. If the victories are recorded wrong, but the CMDR is delivering bonds for the other faction, that's a discrepancy.

That exercise itself is trying to identify where the problem lies. Effort recording/tallying, or tick calculation

The factions involved
HAAX vs Aegis Research (Aegis is the controlling faction)

The dates of the conflict
this past week (17th Feb and still ongoing)

The actions performed including the name of Commanders performing them
irrelevant

The expected results
Copernicus Observatory held by Aegis would be an at-risk asset that would be lost to HAAX in the event the Election was won

The actual results
Copernicus Observatory is not listed as at risk for Aegis Research regardless of being the controlling faction for the system.

Well this is embarrassing :)

Our PMF just finished expansion according to our squadron page we have expanded into a new system.
Checked local news to make sure expansion had ended and it has.
Yet in the new system our faction isn't listed nor does it appear on the mission board.
I gave it an hour just in case systems were still catching up to the tick. Alas still nothing.

Edit : 3hrs later.. still the same. Did a quick video in case I am being dumb again... let me know if I am missing something.

Tick is broken today. So it is normal.

A duplicate problem exists in a system next door (while both stations are now burning due to Thargoid attacks the problem was noticed before the attack in Asterope):

The factions involved
Galactic Pathfinding Group (GPG) vs Aegis Research (Aegis is the controlling faction)

The dates of the conflict
this past week (18th Feb and still ongoing)

The actions performed including the name of Commanders performing them
Matched INF for Election.

The expected results
Cyllene Orbital held by Aegis would be an at-risk asset that would be lost to GPG in the event the Election was won

The actual results
Cyllene Orbital is not listed as at risk asset for Aegis Research regardless of being the controlling faction for the system.

Well, the name of the controlling faction changed at my main port. There is a war going on.

And, I'm friendly or allied with all the factions.

Apart from that, it's business as usual.

I am thinking about spreading my modules and ships around more. Don't want to be locked out.

Probably related since the HGE spawn are BGS related, but this broken BGS are afecting even the enguinnering gameplay, since we cannot find even the correct materials on specific HGE.

Modules and ships are moved to a rescue ship that appears at the same time. After the station is damaged you can still get to them, transfer them, and login in at the rescue ship if you logged out in the station.

I think I mentioned this in another thread, but since credits have become meaningless after 3.3 dropped, the BGS is one of the few "end game" activities left for me to invest my time in. It is a shame that the update that caused me to become more interested in the BGS is the same update that broke the BGS....

>48 hours since the last influence update now too...... at least the upside is that there is no point in wrestling with the BGS bugs till the laxatives work
