Day 64 of a broken background sim

Cosmetic stuff in the store was always the plan. Its OK for game development companies to make money, its sort of the point.

I'm not disputing that. I would expect them to be making money off the cosmetic stuff, but not instead of fixing fundamental issues. And if you check the forums for the other FDev games, this appears to be a consistent theme across them all. Fundamental things are either broken long term or have been broken by recent fixes, and these are not being addressed, but more cosmetic goodies are added to the store.

Give them this :

Then add anything else they ask you for.

If you don't like fixes on the fly buy games that have been out and not updated for a few years. bear in mind that it wasn't better in the old days, things just used to stay bugged permanently.

Already done and not doing it again. I am here to play, not QA, beta testing. It is someone else job. Maybe yours ?

Why should someone spend ten hours trying to play when they should just be able to play and expect some sort of consistent result? What are betas actually for then? Its as if FD never learnt from their mishandling of Powerplay and complex systems. Beta is for obvious bugs, live is for ongoing balancing. By now we should be beyond big issues, as each day for some it gets worse and worse.

Its a doubly inefficient way to fix problems if you don't know where to start as well. I wonder how many bug reports were false alarms, and how many actually were genuine? Thats a lot of wasted time that could be spent elsewhere.

I get FD are going the MVP route, but with something as complex as the BGS people had hoped it would be delivered in a better state.

You are speaking to wall. Just drop it.

I don't know what's the matter with you lot?

They have over 100+ people working on this game, and they have consistently stated these issue will be sorted soon. Are you all becoming a little sceptical of Fdev and their communications?

To be fair, there was a time, not that long ago, that we knew how it worked and it worked consistently. When games were released once, they weren't messed with after the fact either.

What's more, a lot of the 'changes' were not asked for, or discussed with us...

I know you're going to say that FD has no obligation to discuss the direction of their game with us, but this is a special case, since they don't play it themselves, and we have years of experience on the subject. It would have been wise to at least discuss it...

Lol "they don't play it themselves".

Any more counterproductive than rambling vague complaints with no verifiable detail or useful information in them whatsoever ?.

I'm not seeing any logical link between selling cosmetics (as was always the plan) and not fixing stuff. I'm also not seeing them not fixing stuff, we've had two updates in the last few days.

Cut and paste the old one, make sure you include the specifics they've asked us for.

Edit : lol, I almost missed the conspiracy theory in there [up] .

I made an account specifically so i could reply to you - have you ever visited the bug reporting forums? Yes, people do report problems, and yes they do lose the will to live when these problems don't get fixed and their tickets get closed for no sensible reasons

here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php/105-PC-Bug-Reports --- i just searched on the word 'today' in the 1st page of the bugs subforum, 37 occurences

I've spent ages on bug reports here and directly to FD about potential exploits, spent years arguing for Powerplay bug fixes (along with many, many others) as well as provide many fully fleshed out proposals and suggestions, hours trying to understand the new BGS and mitigate problems and think of work arounds.

I've done enough to help FD several times over. I want to play the game now.

Off you pop and do that then, try core mining its a blast.

And now you are simply being po-faced for the sake of it.

I play the bits I like, which are currently the bits that don't work, hence why I post a lot on threads like these.

Right, but we've established that's less use than bug reports. Which IIRC you don't want to submit anymore either. When your answer to everything becomes "don't wanna" maybe its time to take a break.

Its just a video game, it'll still be here later.

How long does it take to get FD to take any notice of bug reports? Like I said before I along with many have been submitting Powerplay reports for years. Yes, years. You would think FD would take notice, but they don't. Hence why a lot of people get agitated.

The same is now happening to the BGS. From playing the BGS post 3.3 I have come across four potential exploits, plus oddities that FD again stonewall.

So, if FD ignore or simply do not respond to a query how do I proceed without tripping over my own shadow? How long should I keep on putting in bug reports when I should be playing the game instead?

In the end I want to play and enjoy playing the game. I half expect a game to work when it goes live, not have a Kinder Egg to put together and wait years for bugs to be sorted out. I paid good money, backed the Kickstarter and yet for the really complex parts FD have let us down.

And in the second update they just fixed the stuff which they've broken in first one. Yep, they definitely fixing something :D Two steps forward, one more backward. Sounds sooo professionally.
