So what exactly is DRX? I've read the bits on the old thread and the inara, but do you just mooch about doing your own thing? Do you have to report on stuff? I'm a bit unclear on the purpose.
This https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/266448-DEEP-RECON-X should make things a bit clearer.
However, I'll just answer directly. We do have group missions, some of which are designed for actual in-game group participation, and some which CMDRs will undertake at their own pace, in their own way, on their own. And then there's the fact that no mission is mandatory. CMDRs are entirely free to do whatever they want.
So mooch? Yes, if that's what you want - BongoBaggins is a lone wolf mooching around, but he's also a DReXer.
Wanna get together and do stuff together? Yep, we've got that covered too.
DRX has recently undergone a big shift, and we're getting better at covering all the angles.
Do you have to report? No! Not if you don't want to, but we find sharing is always better. Screenshots, logs, just passing comments, whatever. We have our lurkers, for sure, but we do also have an active bunch who are happy to report/share regularly.
We do get stuck in, as much as possible, with in-game story stuff, as well as general exploring.
(On which note I've just reminded myself to post my own pics of the Alien Wreck, for those who didn't get to see it before the blockade.)
Has that answered your question? DRX sets missions, or you can do your own thing.

Oh, and I should point out that our DG thread now included a mini-faq, which accompanies what you will have read on our INARA wing overview page.
