Delay? Covid? You no nothing.

I’ve seen some smart people, Who like to profess how covid could not have affected production. And what is the goal here?
Is disproving this going to somehow make things better? Make Fdev apologies and speed up
Production? Or that they hurt you and you ‘must’ hurt them back?
Oh clever you for pointing out that the pandemic isn’t the one an only cause. Do you want a pat on the back?

It’s arrogant and callous to assume you know better than an active pandemic, especially when the UK is exhibiting a mutation of C19 and its cost the lives and livelihoods of many.

I’m happy to hear that you appear to know of the health status of the staff and their friends and family are in great physical, Psychological and economic states.

Even in your experience that work can continue,
In my experience has been the reverse when irreplaceable workers have to take time off to take care of their nearest or temps coming in to replace the replaceable juniors but the onboarding and getting up to speed takes weeks all the same.

For example a few weeks delay to put out a alpha build for the PC is not a problem,
But enlighten me, how is the vetting process on the consoles these days for newly submitted builds, days? Weeks?
Or is it still roughly 3 Months?

Sorry for the aggressive stance against community members, but seriously what do you wish to achieve in either case of the pandemic being the whole truth or not?

Fdev can delay as much as they like. I’ve paid years ago, and I’ve waited my whole life for the full scale of from space to walking on foot experience since the c64 era, I can wait some more.

It’s upsetting, sure, but rest assured it’s for everyone’s best.

If you still feel grumpy, go wait for star citizen instead!

It appears to be very 'fashionable' to berate Frontier, for a few forumites...

Most of us are pretty reasonable about things - yes the console players have had a bit of a surprise this last week... but no amount of cajoling, cussing or insults from the forum is going to change things, just assume it is a few folk venting their disappointment and frustrations in the only way they perceive how.

Don't mention Star Citizen... Someone posted this on discord yesterday, it is a bit sad...

I was thinking this thread's opening post was going to be the exact opposite, effectively calling out frontier for using COVID as an excuse for the delays, but I was wrong... And I'm glad of that, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I am glad they have taken the decision to delay the game's release, and will be working to safe practices and releasing when it is ready, and I'd rather they delay it again rather than taking risks and or compromising what is released.

At the risk of sticking my head above the parapet ....
Who is claiming Covid-19 is not affecting Frontier?
You seem excessively angry, more so than is warranted

I don't know why people get so upset about game delays. It's not like there aren't thousands of different games you could be playing or various other things you could be doing instead. And in the grand scheme of things, video games just aren't that important or worth getting so riled up about.

I've always got the impression that there is a fair few people on this board who've only ever played two games one of them was 1984 Elite and the other Elite Dangerous.

There is even this game... I'm in Electra and have just seen my first Coriolis with 4 N00b Hammers! Only a little over 3 years into the game :ROFLMAO:

Some wish to put their personal slant on it... as did the OP.

Is it really that bothersome? The very same could be said of the multitude of repeat topics that spring up here (and in many other fora), but we all either read or ignore those as we choose.
