Delta Throttle controller

Looks only really usable if you have an arm rest to rest your elbow on. Otherwise, if you can't rest your arm somewhere, it'll get sore pretty soon.

Nothing stops human imagination :) to approach a solved issue.

Any stick can be setup as a full directional direction throttle with auxiliary systems incorporated aswell in a thumb, as cheap as they can be. It is just a subject of the software accepting the axis configuration. So with $30 I have a full nice omni directional throttle out of the box.

The zero point can be configured so the springs perfectly carry the weight of your hand when the vertical thrust is at zero. This minimizes arm and wrist fatigue, and fatigue is no more than a traditional joystick.

Definately an interesting idea, may be worth taking the time to build, if for nothing more than the fun of something different.

Unusual, but wouldn't like a long session with that kind of arm posture.

hmmm, as saif above, should this throtle been positionned correctly on a chair and be right after the arm rest, you could do all the job with arm resting and jus mouve your hand..... i find this throttle promising

yes, and i do it very well with my warthog too..

this doesn't means that for space sims, this throttle wouldn't be even MORE efficient....

because a "problem" is solved doesn't means there are no better solutions to it!

Clever development.
I use a 3d Space Pilot Pro/Navigator for fine thrust control in three directions (could also map the three flight axis if you wanted I suppose).
