Demographics: What's the average CMDR age?

47 and i played the original Elite on a ZX Spectrum compatible in the late 80ies.
Since then i successfully avoided all the other versions of Elite until last November when i gave in not only to Elite, but also to console gaming.
Since someone mentioned X-Wing - yea, really great game, Tie Fighter not so much, but XW was briliant, especialy in terms of missions. I'd really love if they'd be redone with current tech

Not sure I would want to...I might prefer to look at an older poll and smile as I reassure myself that I'm not dead... yet.

Almost 40. Played the original Elite as a kid on my Commodore 64. Bit late to the party though, that was in 1992, as all we could afford back then was a second-hand C64. I loved that game back then, it was one of my favorites on the platform. 
I do not really remember how old I was when I discovered FE2 in 1995.
True , many of the playerbase is sponsored by stannah but i'll have you know im only the tender age of all but 39 (40 in 6 weeks) , a relative young go-getting whipper snapper.

I’m in my early 30’s, that is to say we had invented stone tools already when I was a kid.
Elite definitely skews older than most games, or at least it’s a more even mix. Most pilots I’ve encountered on console seem to be in their late twenties or thirties with quite a few much older than that. I’ve only met one teenager.
That’s quite a reversal from other games I’ve played.
I suspect that the Xbox/PS4 group is slightly younger on average than PC simply because it’s more accessible. That, and I still find some truly ridiculous gamertags on Xbox.
