Detailed Surface Scanner - What colour an I looking for for the signal sources?

The statement of devs seems kinda "shallow" :-D

So I will be doing what Im doing already... "guess" :-D
Well, there was a very brief period during the Alpha test when the DSS overlay map was an actual "heat map", with densities shown by various colors (red, blue, green, etc.).

But it didn't work properly, and people found it confusing, so in the end they went with a simple blue overlay.

I still have a link to the original issue where you can see the dev reply --> https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/32054

In any case it works well enough. I've made billions off exobiology, and so have many others. With a little experience finding the bio/geo features becomes easier.

I think the issue was, they made it pretty colours to so it looked nice, but it didn't actually function as a heatmap at all. This confused people because everyone assumed it was because of the different colours. In actual fact it was as functional as the current single colour map as a location map. I can understand the confusion because I first assumed it was a heatmap when I first saw it. I posted some pictures earlier, but what it actually did was colour gradient the area with central areas being yellow and colours changing out to the edge, but they meant nothing as far as bio was concerned.

Why would someone do it like that? To suggest that there is a meaning? So they need not explain why it doesn't work?

Blue-green is the most suitable place. However, heat maps are wrong too many times. It is necessary to know the type of terrain suitable for each species. Fungoida is on very high or very low ground with a darker color. Fonticulia does not appear if there is volcanism...
