Looking good, let's hope the 'non-stereoscopic' rocks will be gone now ..
Yeah frankly I hope this is the time for the FDS, FAS and FGS to shine. But not in an OMG-it's-bigger-on-the-inside kind of way. This is the level of 'what the hell' I'm dreading. Consistency is not FDs strong suit and this idea (although good, if they can get the networking right) has massive palm into face potential. If I see four people crammed ultra kayak style in a Courier I'm gonna pop, but not in a cool way.
There is a small cratered planet just outside of the Colonia nebula, which had these most gorgeous craters, with peaks.Complex craters (those with a central peak) are missing completely in Odyssey, whereas they were a thing in Horizons.
I gather they have a new texture pack for those ships in the pipeline too!Yeah frankly I hope this is the time for the FDS, FAS and FGS to shine. But not in an OMG-it's-bigger-on-the-inside kind of way.

Look at Plutos moon Charon ( real photo )
Edit: THISTLE has got me looking at planets now - lol. You can clearly see the terrain stamps and Perlin masks.

What Ultra Wide you got - I’m interestedI am on an ultra wide and not having any particular issues. The new map interface is great once you get used to it.
Release date for update 6 is probably asking for too much ?
@Arthur Tolmie Would be good to see the above kind of info in the dev update itself as it would save a lot (okay, a bit) of forum dweller angst. This week! Might even suprise you all with a non-thursday drop! Just a few more checks and we'll confirm asap![]()
Please lovely people don't forget us little single player guys. When I rock up to a base armed to the teeth with rocket troopers and my SRV is under attack we need to be able to fight back.
Can we have new modules on the SRV particularly for single players?
It's quite difficult to do some of these missions on your own. At least make sure the base defence is reasonable.

I know this is a real photo and in game repetition is actually an issue I'd like to see fixed, but...I coulnd't resist.
Hah, proof we are living in a simulation at lastView attachment 252582

Central server based games typically have shards per region for exactly this issue. :/Could be that indeed. If lag is too large between you both that may impact your experience either way. But assuming port forwarding is set up properly it should be as efficient, if not more, than a central server based game though. If you want to try and troubleshoot a bit more go ahead and post your details in that thread and see if we can help.
I've had a few restore missions in tourist locations that have had 3 or more 3 bar sharpshooters... They are really quite good fun, and do prevent the "sit SRV in one place" tactic very effectively! But I find settlement clearout missions, massacre missions, and even some conflict zones, are an absolute swizz in the SRV currently.
To the extent where I stopped choosing the SRV option as it was just too easy and boring.
You can often just plant yourself in one spot and just start mowing folk down. The reinforcements come running towards their deaths as well. You barely have to move sometimes.
Having sharpshooters in the bars in tourist settlements, must be a little nod to good old GreedoI've had a few restore missions in tourist locations that have had 3 or more 3 bar sharpshooters... They are really quite good fun, and do prevent the "sit SRV in one place" tactic very effectively!
One last night took me around an hour of hilarity as 2 teams (2 bar) dropped at opposite ends a minute or so after I'd set off to 'do unto' the 8 scavs already resident!
The people I team up with and use the same ship live in the same country with me, and most not that far away even, and we still get these disconnection errors when getting in and out of supercruise or hyperspace. Yes, even with port forwarding. It's so bad that we have completely shelved the option until it gets better.Could be that indeed. Why? Unless you are planning to give them something to do and make instancing together more reliable it will just be another empty seat in the cockpit.Four Player Multicrew
Four Commanders will be able to board ships together for the first time, with a number of ships set to be equipped with a fourth cockpit seat, including several Commander favourites.
Aha with nearly no information about upcoming patches. Yeah nice communication!I'm loving the new and better communication from Fdev![]()
