Nah - you're complaining you can't get an appointment with the nurse to get your boil lanced - we're complaining to the government that they need to get a grip on the global pandemicIf console launch relies on a stable pc release, then it's not distracting from anything at all - they're both just different ways of asking the same question.
We're all asking the same thing, in different ways.
I dunno, politically-correct CMDRs often repeat questions too, but those aren't usually questions that have already been answered repeatedly by FDevYeh, PC CMDRs never do that do they?![]()
I think it's fantastic that while devs are working hard on Odyssey to optimise, resolve performance issues and bugs, that FDev also allocate further devs to implement new content simultaneously.I wholeheartedly agree. We should not be cheering or even accepting new content being added to EDO until the performance issues have been satisfactorily resolved.
At that point the console ports and any new content can be started and then enjoyed by all.
- I am frustrated that the performance optimisations are taking so long but I understand the position wrt that and the console ports.
- I am unhappy that EDO on PC is being expanded on before the above has first been fixed.
The fact that so many PC folks can’t understand the difference is quite astonishing. And you talk of shrubberies …
I think it's fantastic that while devs are working hard on Odyssey to optimise, resolve performance issues and bugs, that FDev also allocate further devs to implement new content simultaneously.
If that wasn't the case, CMDRs would be complaining that Odyssey was merely in maintenance mode.
Ah well. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

wouldn't be great if we had a follow up to these posts, so pc and console players wouldn't be deglatiating by speculations for the past 10 pages? Also, can we expect a follow-up on these questions (or some small attention here) as sally does, or she's the only one dealing with the community around here nowadays? Don't think she alone can(or should) handle hundreds of notifications daily when there's more of you guys around =)
Well, yes, PC player's needs are more important: they're left holding a broken product for which they (we, since I am one) have paid. Console players have not paid for Odyssey and thus are not left waiting for something for which they've paid. If they had paid, it would be a very very different story.Your needs a more important, I get it.

so much for open communication eh
also i see console players in denial, you have the right to complain and all(specially because being quiet means stuff is fine, hence they don't have to do anything) but
1: odyssey ain't even close to optimized on pc
2: if can't run on a 3090 imagine on potato old consoles
3: fdev will be as silent bout it as they are about powerplay, the difference is they told us all console is on hold till they feel odyssey is ok, which is way more than they said about PP.
4: "what is optimized on their view?" we'll have to wait and see.
also for those saying "horizons is abandoned on console" if that's the case, it is also abandoned on PC (not everyone is crazy enough to purchase odyssey at the current state, even on PC)

well, if stops to tanking on a 3090 might be a step towards optimization, till then, not even close(?)Conversely, reports are that it tanks on a 3090 but runs fine on a 1070, for example.
So at what point do they consider it 'console ready' is anyone's guess.
If I said Horizons, it was a mistype, I mean Odyssey is abandoned on console. But with development moving towards Odyssey, there will be little more than bug fixes for Horizons. There will be no new content, that's for Odyssey, so Horizons is around for as long as FDEV feels like supporting it. Right now they're going to be all over it because Odyssey is not in a state where they can make money. Once they get Odyssey good enough they will drop support for Horizons, that's only reasonable. So, in that sense Horizons will be abandoned also, but yeah, not anytime soon.wouldn't be great if we had a follow up to these posts, so pc and console players wouldn't be deglatiating by speculations for the past 10 pages?

Sort of fine (1080, though). Until things break and then it tanks. Sometimes it will fix itself after some fiddling (maps, sc jump, hs jump), other times it takes a restart.Conversely, reports are that it tanks on a 3090 but runs fine on a 1070, for example.
not the platform, but those who already bought a defective product have the priority, rather than shifting the priority to sell the defective products to others, don't you think?I've also bought Odyssey. I don't think that the players platform choice dictates how important they are.
When it can run on a Phenom II X4 with 4GB RAM and Radeon HD 7970, the potato desktop equivalent of PlayStation 4 vanillaConversely, reports are that it tanks on a 3090 but runs fine on a 1070, for example.

the so called "pairity update" for horizons is due to happen this year. and i wish it wasn't, seeing what they did with ONE SMALL PATCH breaking a lot of stuff in horizons, i wonder what will they do with the pairity update. If I said Horizons, it was a mistype, I mean Odyssey is abandoned on console.
