I switched to DBX several days ago after making 550 kylies in AspX and 350 kylies in Phantom. The main goal was to squeeze some more jump range since my exploration style is more about highs and lows of the Galaxy rather than dense areas.
My impressions so far:
but
Anyway, thanks to reduced shaking and DSS (there is something to do during the scooping process) I like this ship very much. I'm absolutely sure that it's gonna be a long relationship and hundreds of kylies are ahead of us.
My impressions so far:
- she jumps 68.3 Ly which is over 2 Ly farther than Phantom using the same modules (most of the core modules just moved from the Phantom, they are not extremely engineered)
- the canopy view is much nicer comparing to Phantom
- no more stupid lights in front of my face
- she's more agile both in supercruise and in normal space
- she runs cool
- she sounds good
- she can land almost everywhere
but
- 4A scoop is almost three times slower than 5A so she requires scooping at maximum flow to not die of old age during the process... which means much bigger risk of a mishap
- she shakes during scoop so much that I got nausea (!) and had to switch the "reduce camera movements" option on for the first time ever!
