Dinosaur/Reptile breakout and Guest management:

In game 1, dinosaur breakouts are but a minor nuisance that are forgotten once the dinos are back into their enclosures, it reduces guests' rating for a while, costs you a negligible amount of money and that is all.

It shouldn't be like that, especially that Jurassic Park ( a park getting endorsed ) and Jurassic World ( a fully functioning park ) were ruined due to dinosaur breakouts and human casualties in the process.I am not saying that you should immediately lose the game once a stubborn Raptor decides to hunt some humans, but it should be impactful and really offers you many gameplay challenges.

I will try to suggest some gameplay mechanics about dinosaur breakouts that could hopefully be implemented into game 2.

  • Case 1 scenario - Dinosaur breaks out and no one dies:

If a dinosaur breaks out due to a small enclosure or incompatible biome, it won't necessarily go for guests unless it is hungry ( carnivores ) or very stressed ( herbivores ), there could be a small chance to do territorial attacks. If we get it back into its enclosure with no human casualties, we would only have a small security rating drop, with a small debuff on ticket sales for a short while.

  • Case 2 scenario - Dinosaur attacks and ends up killing people:

Now things get interesting as this will include many gameplay mechanics and phases.

If a dinosaur ends up killing at least one guest we would get a top priority mission to secure the dinosaur in a given base time period ( 5 minutes for example ), if we fail to do it we lose the game, if many dinosaurs are breaking out we get the base period increased by +2 minutes for each extra dinosaur ( so if we have 2 dinos breaking out we would get 5 + 2 which is 7 minutes and so on ).

After successfully completing the first phase, we move to phase two, which is how to deal with the backlash, we would be offered a menu where we have many choices but we can choose only one of them:

1- First Option is to buy them out, it would be a heavy sum of money ( 500k for each dead guest ). This would be the most optimal as the lawsuits would drop immediately, the amount payed could decrease a we progress into our research tree.

2- Second Option is to take 'em to the court, we could spend a small amount of money for lawyers ( 100k no matter how many dead guests ), there is a small chance of 20% the court will rule in our favor so we are off the hook, there is also a 60% chance they might rule against us with normal sums ( like the previous option 500k for each dead guest ), or they might give us even bigger penalties ( 500k for each dead guest ) with a 20% chance of happening as well as retiring the dinosaur(s) responsible for deaths ( Frontier must add the option to retire a dinosaur ).
Taking this route is quite risky, but as we progress in the research tree, we would alter the favorable outcome chance instead of the grave penalty one.

After finishing phase two, we would get a short debuff to our ticket income as well as a temporary guest happiness drop if we choose to take it to the court.

  • Not all dinosaurs/reptiles can break out ( hopefully it might already be in Game 2 ):

    1-
A Struthiomimus ( or any small dinosaur ) shouldn't be able to break steel fences, with an exception to agile small dinos ( they could climb un-electrified fences ).As for medium to large dinosaurs, we go to the next part.

2- We already have seen that fences have levels, as well as the dinos, let's say a Carnotaurus is a level 4 dino, it should be able to break all fences with a lower lvl than 4, it could break normal lvl 4 fences, but couldn't break eletrified lvl 4 fences, or any fence with a higher lvl. This way breakouts are much rarer but scarier if allowed to happen ( intentionally or unintentionally ).

3- Flying reptiles would have same the mechanics as normal dinosaurs, with the aviary walls/glass having lvl upgrades to prevent break outs.

4- Marine reptiles can never break out. Okay before you go calling me bad things in the comments hear me out please, asking for pool enclosures to be put next to the ocean/lakes just to get a marine reptile animation isn't right, i hope i am wrong but i don't think it will work from a gameplay perspective. Game mechanics should be balanced to be included in all types of maps and not just a particular one.I suggest however that a stressed marine creature would attack the glass in the viewing points, it could damage the internal pool components ( walls, feeders, even go leaping out for the ranger drone losing you some minor money to replace it ... ).
If a dino/flying reptile comes to drink from the pool, the marine creatures might come for them ( if hungry ).
That is all ! Sorry i made such a long post i ... i tried organizing it as much as i could to make it easier to read.
Hope you enjoyed it, thanks for reading and tell us how you feel about it in the comments below.
