Dinosaur species count secretly quite high? Theory inside:

That's not what I recall, JPOG was pretty fun to play. It did have it's flaws but it was a solid game overall.

I played JPOG for a few years. The gave was overly simplified. The park management aspect wasn't great. Terrain tools were terrible and so was the tree tool. Water tool was also pretty bad cause it make squares of water that looked unnatural. It also wasn't the best looking game ever. It was pretty underwhelming once you look at it objectively.

But like I said it was great because it was the only thing like available.

It was fun, more dinos would have been nice but reskining other dinos allowed us to add more to solve that. There was a huge lack in buildings though. Would like to have seen more stuff like the rollercoaster games. Like different shops and stalls. Maybe some theming stuff. Modding was easy for reskining but couldn't do much with models. For the early 2000s it was a good game. Its nice to see it come back with Way better graphics and more realistic dinosaurs and more buildings and more things to manage. I like the addition of the power grid and everything you do for fossil hunt is through a new building you build.

Operation Genesis, without modding, only allows the player to make 15 species of dinosaur for each new game, it was very restrictive to play. Whereas with JW Evolution, it appears that we can use practically all of the species we can make for all of the islands, it’s a huge improvement over its predecessor.

Another reason to keep the number secret as long as possible - if a species needs to be cut late in production, or additional species can be added late in production, you can sneak them by without players being any the wiser.

Denuvo, so no modding anyway...

That is not true. It has nothing to do with DRM
Michael said it clearly in the interview: Modding is something they are thinking about, but won't be available from the start as it requires creating a whole new set of features and tools.

I think what they are doing now is trying to shoot for the clearly given deadline. After release, they can go wild with ideas.

And 30 is all we're going to get. At least with the base release.

30 is all we were shown in the youtube videos, and I've seen nothing to prove otherwise than a German article which could easily be mistranslated.

Could you please stop spreading false information? There will be more than 30 dinos in the base game, that is whats told to content creators at the event. Period.
