From what I've seen DirectX 12 will be available around Christmas 2015 (promising all sorts of impressive figures e.g. http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/1...ia-gpus-will-deliver-mantle-like-capabilities)


...but no news at this stage if its going to be W7 compatiable...

I've been keenly waiting for the next Direct X.

I'm very excited.

I'm going see if I can get hold of a pre release as soon as possible and not kill my machine in the process.

Right now AMD mantle is being developped as a replacement hopefully for DX
Mantle is one of the reasons why microsoft delayed Direct-X and if AMD goes on developping mantle and improves it , then theres a possability Direct-x won't even come out
