Corrugated metal walls and panels closely followed by plaster walls and panels.
What do you use the metal walls for?
Back of house buildings and sections of buildings mostly. The corrugated panels are especially good for roofs - with the advantage that they don’t z-fight much when angled against each other so they’re good for round buildings.
Hmmm... That requires some deep thought...
For me no single piece can be singled out as more important than any other. And focusing on a single theme group would be too limiting. Then it might come down to what is best when mixed with other themes. Final thought would be the most important piece is variation in themes. I know that doesn't answer the question directly but the pure facts are we need more variation in decorations and flora. I suspect many players would identify with these thoughts.

Well, my favorites are the 45 degree angle pieces (roof pieces and also I like the wall triangles). Using these pieces, my building don't have to be plain ol' boxes; they can have a unique style to them.

Interesting discussion thread here. Honestly, it really depends on the time and situation. Right now, I'm obsessed with the new world theme (specifically the black steal beams) because I'm building an entrance in that style (which I'm obsessed with btw!). In general, I'll have to go with the one that I'm sure most people say and that's the faux rock set, specifically the little rock clusters. Other than that, the Planet Zoo basic theme like ornagey brown color poles; they're really really useful. In general, I think the Planet Zoo basic theme is really useful, especially with decorating staff buildings. The windows in this set are also pretty useful. Some other quick things that come to mind are: the mesh pieces (specifically the small boxed in one), the small wooden log pieces from the Africa Pack, and the re-colorable wooden set from the Aquatic Pack.

i have to say that recolorable plasters pieces, artic wood pieces, rocks, wood logs & columns are essential.
i'd love to see more wood tints for logs and floors (or flat roofs ^^)

I totally love all the wooden pieces. Especially the wooden pieces from the base game.
But my problem with them is that almost all wood pieces are climbable, in the game. So to say, when I build an indoor habitat. it's really limiting when it comes to pieces, especially when it's sandbox (animals escape in funny ways). This is just not right and it does not represent the game's function, of being unlimited, well.
But my biggest problem with my favourite pieces is, I cant build with them as much as I want. After a certain amount of placing down (climbable) wood pieces/planks, ie. thousands of so to say, the game needs time to calculate the climbability and this eats my CPU away... Everytime I place, move or remove an object, where nearby many climbable pieces are, my game freezes for almost over 60 seconds, and then runs again (smoothly). I have an i57400 (no visitors on the map).
I hope the Planet Zoo Team considers this as in adding a toggle to choose if the piece should be climbable or not. This would mean a lot to me and the others in this community, to have the full experience with our beloved wood pieces <3.

For me it's anything small and recolorable, which lets me make all sorts of detailed things myself. This includes the gutter pieces, exterior switches, wooden roof trim pieces, but most of all, the 2D font pieces added in 1.4. Those changed the game for me!
More fonts like these would be super cool! Not just for writing, but all sorts of cool details!
