the 12 -18 yr olds who dont have a job and can live life on the net and own people like me who only get to play a couple of hours at the weekend
otherwise its just COD hell but with better graphics

This is not "early access" this is a proper beta, so there will be future wipes. Definitely one before Gamma starts.
Don't try to "Play" the game as when the wipes occur you will feel annoyed/disappointed as you will have invested in it. Just experience the game, test stuff out, practice doing things (combat etc.), try to break stuff, make the most of it... it is all going to be wiped anyway

I read it as 'when gamma comes'. But it isnt really precise.
I read that as a wipe between Beta and Gamma. They have repeatedly stated that they will only do a wipe during gamma if a game breaking bug is discovered.
Thanks. Yep, I read that as the start of Gamma, which is what we are all expecting. I think we'll also probably hear at that stage how likely another one is during Gamma.
Number of kills
I notice that in PB to SB wipe my number of kills has not been reset - any indication whether this will be the same in future wipes (and assuming this is what calculates your "Mostly Harmless, Dangerous, Elite" status)?

Title is my question. I have owned the game since the start of premium beta but not really invested a massive amount of time due to the frequent progress resets (I work full time and am a dad so time is precious meaning I would prefer persistence in my pilot).
Do we know if we should expect many resets throughout standard beta, or, if the next reset will be pre-gamma, is this forecast to be a way off?

There where a few reset on alpha state. Since PB things seem to run stable enough so no reset looks to be needed. I expect the next wipe for the release candidate to keep careers equal to all.
Wipes usually happen for technical reasons. If internal data structures change to the point where translating from the old to the new format is too much effort then they'll wipe.
The only definite wipe of which I am aware is when gamma starts. But don't be surprised/upset if all your hard work vanishes between going to bed one night and waking up the next whilst we're still in beta (and even gamma, if worst comes to worst).

When they found out they did need to do a wipe early in Premium beta. They were kind enough to convert our ships to the cash value and allow us to keep our bank balances to avoid total loss.
Not saying they will do this if there is a need to wipe in beta but they do have a track record of trying to look after our progress. Remember they want the expensive stuff tested as well. Probably why it's fairly easy in beta to earn credits at the moment. We only maybe have a couple of days/weeks before the next feature set injection.

Transfer of assets on upcoming wipes?
I’m really enjoying this game, and can see myself investing more time in it than I usually do in games (especially due to the DK2 support which makes it absolutely incredible).
I’m wondering if there are any official words on whether assets accumulated during the standard betas will be transferred somehow after wipes and towards the final release?
