I just wanted to put my vote in as a Beta player, to please NOT reset our progress... EVER :D

I have heard arguments such as "well, it wouldn't be fair to new players when the game is finally released" etc etc. But you know what? There's ALWAYS gonna be new players. And they will always have to compete with well-established players. I mean are FD going to reset our progress every time someone else buys the game once it's released? No, of course not - that would be crazy. So why do it for betas and final release? If it's a compatibility issue, surely we can at the very least get to keep all the credits we've earned? I don't think that's asking too much :)

We get enough of a (huge) benefit from knowing the game inside and out. We don't need more in the form of credits.

Its not a compatibility issue, and TBH i do not even think it is mainly a head start thing. imo it will mostly becasue the game is not balanced.

money can be made WAY too easily at the moment, and also there are people glitching and cheating - which is fine and to be encouraged in beta.

it would imo be a nonsence to keep beta credits. By the time it goes gamma hopefully the balancing will be sorted for the most part, and the loopholes closed and with a bit of luck no wipes needed from them, however, knowing the stuff some people have done in beta to get money, it would be rubbish had they been allowed to keep it.

Alpha backers already have had a reward and a pretty significant one at that. And yes this game will definitely be released this year, David Braben doesnt make such statements lightly. It might not have all the polish ie it will be a gamma version that will require further balancing etc, but it will get released. This isnt at all like Kerbal where they have a miniscule team taking ages to do anything - this game has a large team behind it. I wouldnt be surprised if we arent all shocked by what they manage to get into the Beta 2, they are keeping very quiet about it so it must be going to be big and impressive!

Gamma is not expected for a few months so I think we won't see a wipe for a few months. So you can save up your credits for new stuff in the next beta updates.

When is the next wipe?

Hello guys, Im curious as to when the next wipe will happen?
Im at a state where my ship got destroyed and ofcourse the insurance bug kicked in so im back to starting point. I have to farm trading all over again just so I can buy a decent combat ship.

Is there any spiculations as to when the next beta phase / wipe will happen?

Most probably when gamma is released.

I think it has been said that there will be a wipe before gamma and only before that if it is deemed necessary due to issues in-game that need one.

Hopefully that means either none before gamma. (Gimbals crossed). :)
